Even rule #34 has not yet managed to rape childhoods on the level that this movie poster (and subsequent movie) has. My hats off to you Hollywood. You are truely some sick bastards.

I wonder could we punch Tim Hill and claim self defense for our inner child? or that he was raping my childhood memories?

Nobody learned anything from that Garfield update in movie form?

Okay, so its being directed by Tim Hill, who directed Garfield 2, and man of the Spongebob cartoons...

The good thing is Alvin, Theodore and Simon will be voiced by their original voice actors

Thats more like adding salt to the wound than it is comforting. And besides, who would notice? I mean, stick my voice in sound editor and crank up the speed by a factor of 2, and VOILA! Im the missing chipmunk brutha! (No not they gay one, the one that was adopted by a liberal senator and now speaks at greenpeace meetings.)

Now that I didn't expect. I knew they were running low on content to dredge up from the past to rape and pillage but how much further can they possibly go from this? An Andy Capp movie? B.C. 3D? DuckTales live action?

Shit sucks.

I just died a little as I saw this.

I can just tell that this movie will kill Jason Lee. No, not his career, but him. Remember Street Fighter killing Raul Julia?

Maybe the Duck Tales movie (they are probably working on it right now) will tell us who the real father of the kids is!

Oh man. This movie is totally unnecessary.

Thats exactly what I thought too.

Honestly, the only way this movie would be funny and worth seeing is if it were rated R for all the people who finally grew up from the time when the Chipmunks were actually on tv; sort of age them with everyone else. Swearing, drug use, obscene violence ala gang movies. Come on, I'd watch Alvin choke a bitch and Theodore roll a spliff, a drive-by scene here and there, etc.

Oh oh, and a shank scene too, someone HAS to get shanked. My money would be on Dave; still trying to be a fatherly figure and Alvin just won't take his shit anymore.

"I'm my own man! Stop talking to me like I'm a BOY!"
*stabstabstab*

"AAALLVVIIIINNN!!!"

Just watch it be a giant PSP commercial (http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=192).

I was too hopeful apparently. They are bringing yet another dead franchise to the screens: The Smufs (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472181/). Not only is there one of those coming, there's two more slated to be released by Nickelodeon Movies.

Oh gawd! Just what we need. More crappy movies to make our future generations think "Wow! I wanna be like that!" http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif

I never liked them either. I was more of a gummy bears, smurfs, and duck tales fan.

Those voices were too annoying for me to last a whole episode.
