i just got the pc version and installing it, directX matter to play the game?

Yeah, game won't even install without an up-to-date DirectX version.

turn down the Graphics, if it's running slow on your computer.

Is the EU version different than the one over here? Because the one I have will let you install PSU without the proper version of Direct X. Hell, it'll even let you install it on unsupported version of Windows >.>
