Thanks to Norvekh and Violetskye I was able to pick and choose computer parts for my first time building one. The next question though is if I am missing anything before I order these up. (most is what Norvekh suggested)

First is the Motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128017

The Processor:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819115016

The Memory:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820231108

Power Supply:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16817256008

Video Card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814150183

Hard Drive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16822144417

Floppy and CD:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16821104001
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16827106070

Case:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16811133022

What I was wondering is if I need anything more or less or even if you guys have any suggestions on changing anything. Like I said in the last thread I know how to work the things that a computer does but when it comes to hardware it is like Swahili to me.

Thanks.

the following is not needed but you might want to consider getting...
sound card
network card
USB card as i dunno about you but i fill my USB ports up pretty quickly... i have like 8 and almost all of them are full...
fan/heatsink separate from th processor, but might not...dunno, some require better than what comes packaged with them...

Don't forget to make sure the heatsink glue gel shyt is coming with the processor or that you are getting it separate...you need it.

you might also want to have someone look them all over to make sure it all fits together... i just did a once over and it seems like it all works together, but i'm not the best on these things.

Thermal paste is your friend. It looks to me like the CPU doesn't come with any...

...Ever seen the CPU equivalent of grilled cheese? :/

Spend the extra money and go with the 6X50 series with a 1333MHz FSB.

For roughly the same price (actually $1 less) then the CPU you linked to, you could upgrade to the E6550 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115030) - $185

or

You could spend $40 more and go with the E6750 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115029) - $225

You'll need a different mobo though (one that supports the faster FSB.) I'm actually headed out the door atm, but I'll try to post a decent substitute when I get back later this afternoon unless someone else has a good suggestion.

Oust the floppy drive; who uses those anymore unless you're in college? You're prolly better off buying a small usb flash-drive which can hold quite abit more media and with less disk read errors. I've stopped buying floppy drives for a long, long time; but maybe thats just me?

I was thinking the same thing but I said $6 why not. I might need it in the future. But since I got a second voice saying to do it I decided to go with it.

Wasted space?

The floppy can be handy for doing a BIOS update if you wish to do it that way although it can be done with a CD or through the OS even. Speaking of the OS, I assume you already have that?

A network card hasn't been necessary for a couple years now as just about all motherboards have onboard networking (if not two ports).

An alternative to work with the E6550 that VS suggested would be this board (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128057) also by Gigabyte. It uses the new P35 chipset, is compliant with all of the currently selected parts as well as the 1333FSB processors, is less expensive, and has the option to have up to 12 USB 2.0 ports just off the motherboard (4 on the rear and 4 internal headers supporting 2 ports each for a total of 8 ports).

Other options for motherboards would be this Abit P35 board (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813127031), this other Gigabyte P35 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128057), or even this EVGA 650i Ultra (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188017) board. If you go with the E6550 that VS suggested (and that would be an excellent choice) look at the P35 and Nvidia 650i/680i boards as they all support the new FSB, and will support the new Intel chips that will release later this year. Just be sure to pick up one that uses DDR2 memory and not DDR3 as DDR3 is far more expensive and doesn't provide much additional (if any at all) performance.

EDIT: Intel processors come with thermal paste applied to the heatsink already. There's no need for any additional.

A sound card can help if you really want audio fidelity or use hardware accelerated sound (EAX, OpenAL, DirectSound3D/DS3D) in games. If you go with one, look at the Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102006) or XtremeMusic as those are the starting cards that have the X-Fi processor. The XtremeAudio does software audio processing, in other words it's the same as using the motherboard's sound. The XtremeMusic isn't on Newegg anymore as it has been entirely replaced by the XtremeGamer and is no longer produced. Some brick and mortar stores still have the XtremeMusic and have been having great sales on them to get rid of the stock.

Yep. I'll be putting parts together and see what prices and reviews come through to see which ones to pick from.

Got all the parts and am currently putting it together but ran into a problem. My power supply won't fit into my Mobo. It fits into the slot but it doesn't snap. Is there any reason for this?

Well, I got it fixed and I would like to say that this computer after putting in a game that I used to have to play on lowest settings and getting 10fps to playing it on highest settings with 75fps.

AHHHHHHHH BEAUTIFUL!
