I'm looking for a new pair of speakers. It has been forever since I last shopped for a real pair, so I figured I could hear the suggestions from the sound geeks.

Criterias: 2 or 2.1 system, looking for best price-quality ratio. Used for gaming only. What's good?

Anything from Creative or Logitech that costs less than fifty bucks CAD$70? *shrug*

This right here (http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-ProMedia-Certified-Computer-3-Piece/dp/B000062VUO/ref=pd_bbs_1/105-4451498-0742020?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1185642724&sr=8-1) is the best 2.1 sound system you can get for a PC. Runner up goes to these (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Z-2300-THX-Certified-200-Watt-Speaker/dp/B0002SQ2P2/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-4451498-0742020?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1185642868&sr=8-1), but the midrange isn't as good as the Klipsch speakers. Logitech's stuff tends to be heavier on the bass side.

Edit: It may be worth noting that I own both, so I speak from experience. The Logitechs are with my PC, and EAX settings at "New Age" on my sound card resolves the midrange issue. I took the Klipsch speakers and have it providing sound in my living room setup until I save up money for a good 5.1 home theater system.

Sure, it's $100, but I have these, and they're actually really high-quality. That being, these + Lumines Live = Audiogasm.

Unfortunately, being that you're looking for lol2.1...

That looks to be pretty much the lol2.1 equivalent.

Out of curiosity, is it just a space issue that's keeping you away from more speakers?

Sort of, both a combo of space and clutter. If I add two more speakers, the RL one would have to go on top of the printer(!) and the RR one would go on the cabinet behind me, which would go on top of more clutter, and I'd have to pass the wire right in front of my desk, where the wire would easily get tangled in the wheels of my chair. To be honest, I'm not really big on 5.x setups anyway since I regularly listen to the TV and play the console on a 5.1 setup in the living room... and between that and my 2.1 setup on my computer, as stupid as it'll sound, I hardly see the difference...
