I went into chat after the posting about exchanging presents on the Japanese server, to see if that was an ongoing thing. A couple of people told me yes. I took a Mag to Gallon's shop and had it "wrapped". It is now a "present" in my inventory.

Heh, I've since found out that Rappy and others take delight in making fun of noobs with questions and now I'm a little worried. Did I waste a whole bunch of time and money? Is the present I created worthless?

Wrapping a present doesnt take all that much time or money. And you can just as easily open it if you want your mag cell back. So you didnt really do anything wrong.

But that button mashing minigame can get PAINFUL! I get between 90-100 presses per try, but after about 10 tries, my arm is about to fall off.
Of course, you could always pay Gallon an assload of money, which it sounds like you did... But how much does it cost, 10,000 meseta? Could be worse.
