This has probibly been posted before, but I just got a prestent from "st rappy" now I know your supposed to open it but is there any special way to open it to get something REALLY good? not that a mag cell on its own isn't good enough though http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

first of all you have to decide what you want. what you do is put the cell in your bank then go offline and take it out and open it. if its not what you want reset it without saving then go back and repeat the process again...and again until you get whatever you want http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

The better way to go about it would be to have a different character with a different section id walk over it to find out what it is. If you like what that person see's have them open it.
I believe that it's based on secion id and character class. Correct me if I'm mistaken guys.

If you open the present offline you can keep reseting until it becomes the mag cell that you want it to be. As long as you are in the offline game u can soft reset, just push the reset button on your GC, as many times as you want. I dont think section ID has anything to do with it since I used my present a bunch of times to get the panther spirit and went though just about all of the cells in the process. And the best way is how Smash told you to do it...

(offline only... DO NOT PERFORM THIS ONLINE)
1. Put Present in bank. (I usually put everything that I have equipped in the bank at this time just for the hell of it)
2. Quit and Save the game.
3. Load game and take the present from the bank and open it, and if it isnt what you want hit reset on the Gamecube (then just do this step over and over til you get what you want)
4.Goto Step 3 if you didnt get what you want.
Goto step 5 if you got what you want.
5. Quit and save.

When you reset the Gamecube online without saving, you lose everything that you have on your character that wasn't equipped.
When you reset the Gamecube [b/offline[/b] it shouldnt* affect your person's inventory.

*I am not liable for any lost items, and that is why I tell you in step 1 to put everything in the bank.

The quicker way of reseting is the soft reset method from the controller. I believe you hold down A, B, X and Y and hold start for a second or two.
Once again, this WILL save the game online, so you'll want to use the present trick offline ONLY.

The soft reset is HOLD(X+B+Start)

This also works for me when the dreaded FSOD happens.
