I believe your GeForce 8500 GT will do alright but if you want, you can try a video stress test to see how far your card will go. I believe it should have came with your video card drivers.

If you wanted to spend a little money then you can go for the 8600 all you want, but in my opinion I believe that you don't have to worry too much about the graphics power of each card.

Besides, the 8600 was built for Vista and Dx10. It's cheap for it's quality and you're going to be able to make the most out of your money http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

there is a considerable performance gap between the 8500GT and the 8600GT. The 8500GT really isn't much of a gaming card. Even with the 256MB difference, the 8600GT will easily out perform the 8500GT by a HUGE margin. We're talking about double the performance of the 8500GT. If you have the choice, go with the 8600GT and you're gaming experience will be MUCH, MUCH better.

Main differences are going to be in the GDDR3 in the 8600GT vs. the GDDR2 in the 8500GT, and the 540MHz core clock of the 8600GT vs the 450MHz clock of the 8500GT.
