In the new Edge magazine "The 100 best videogames", PSO is ranked as the 84th best game ever. Hopefully Sega is building PSU to a similar goal!

I'm not expecting PSU to make it in. PSU is great, but by most game magazines... generally it has turned up with very bad reviews.

PSU could be great when its actually complete. But lets not kid ourselves. At release, PSU was was about 20% of what it should have been. Even now its practically half a game.

Reviews were based upon the initial release of PSU. The PSU we had back then was completely different than what we have today content-wise. Once AoI hits, with so much new content and tweaked gameplay, PSU:AoI reviews will be completely different than the poor treatment PSU had on release.

PSO is up there because it was revolutionary. One of the first online RPGs and possibly the only game with that playstyle.

I heard it would've gotten 83rd...but Barney's Hide 'n Seek Adventure nabbed it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

It's in my top 3. 1 is probably Skies of Arcadia. 2 is a draw between KH and PSO.

PSO is far more fun, but KH is just incredibly refined and has amazing art direction.

Edge is a multi-format computer and video game magazine published by Future Publishing in the United Kingdom.

Special thanks to my friends, Google and Wikipedia. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Nice to see PSO getting some recognition, it's a shame it's coming from Edge though. I've never been a fan - they are a little on the pretentious side.

Keep dreaming - the industry slated PSU because the gameplay was fundamentally flawed. The main complaints being little or no innovation, poor enemy AI, slowdown on PS2 blah blah...

As Zael said, PSO was revolutionary, is PSU ?

AOI will give current fans something to smile about, and might even lure former PSO players with its "cunning" use of PSO nostalgia. However, more content and a few tweaks are not going to impress many critics.

by the way, as far as i know this hitlist was voted by the readers, not by the staff of EDGE! so i think it's even better that PSO ranked 84th http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Heh, that is great to hear that PSO was ranked at all, as it is an old awesome game.

For me, I do not even know what Edge is...

I wonder where PSU would come if they were to put it on a list.

Probably somewhere around 2137.
