Ok someone else might have already asked this but Every site and magazine says there are no other online games planned for GC. Well what about all those sports titles? are they only online for PS2 and Xbox?

Ok next question is Capcom vs SNK2 online playable for GC? I'm going to get it tomarrow but it would be even cooler if it was?

And lastly what do y'all think of GC's online plan? PSO is fun, PSO is great, PSO is god... but more games would be cool online too.

There are no other online games planned for the GameCube atm, though apparently Nintendo has invested in a server for an online version of some RPG series that everyone hates, but the JP players love.

No, it doesn't have online play.

Yeah, Nintendo are officially crackpots and are going well out of their way to make sure online play is a complete failure on the GCN... so FAR at least. At least that Yamauchi creep (http://www.toastyfrog.com/psi/webcomix/12.shtml) isn't around anymore to wreak terror on the company. JEEZ.

I say it's a matter of time, but ultimately, I can't see the GCN ever becoming a success with online gaming... I'm expecting something similar to the Dreamcast's online library.

well, developing a console is not done within some weeks - usually every hardware-company has the successor of their current console at least in the planning-phase when the current one gets in store.

so that has nothing to mean for a soon death of the cube. ps2 isnt dieing too, even if there is word of ps3 since around more than a year. not to mention x-box...

well as far as i heard nintendo will have 1 or 2 onlinegames ready when europe gets pso... wait and see... maybe its chu chu rocket 2 ^_^

Heh, if nintendo could make any of it's franchises online multiplayer, it would be a great thing. Think Metroid Prime, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Party 4, and Animal Crossing, games like that are screaming to go online. Not to mention other non-nintendo games like Timesplitters 2 and Super Monkey Ball.

Actually, Mario Kart for the GC is supposed to be Online. Also Gamecube is getting a MMO RPG sometime this year.

a Metroid game online? sheesh, you must be smokin from the same bowl the jackasses over at square are when they decided that FFXI should be online. Metroid is designed to be a single player game...that is unless you were pointin towards DLC which i agree with and withdraw the comment about the bowl http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

So? Zelda was "designed to be a single player game"
and yet it's on the game boy advance now with Four Swords. Nintendo can break its own rules if need be.

call me old school, but i really dont like to see tradition being broken. If the boat aint broke, leave it the hell alone! Metroid Prime is good as a 1st person action/adventure, but i would have preferd if retro kepted it 2D, pretty much the same way Konami did Contra on the PS2. Square broke away with tradition with FFXI and made it multiplayer, and it flopped seriously in japan

Yamauchi helped mark Nintendo's place on the map, but as far as the past few years have gone, I think he's done a lot more harm than good. That's debatable though. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Personally, I think it's for the best that he's not the big cheese at NCL any longer.

And Mario Kart has been rumored to be Nintendo's first online GCN game for a while now, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Same with a sequel to Animal Crossing which seems like a very obvious choice for an online game, to me.

I DO understand Nintendo's current stance on online games, though... As a company that has targetted the younger market, I'd be concerned as well. As we ALL know, an online game community isn't exactly the greatest place for a 10 year old, and I think Nintendo realizes this. For this reason, I think it's unlikely we'll see too many 1st party online games from Nintendo...

But you never know, Nintendo is insane. http://www.cox-internet.com/ghiltz/crazymiyamoto.gif

A Chu Chu Rocket 2 would kick ass, btw! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

a serious one-player-game with one characteristic hero/ine (like zelda and metroid is) cannot be made this easily into a serious multiplayer/online-game. and zelda-4 swords i'd more consider as some kind of joke....

then again, a good start with cube online in europe, this would be a big surprise... once again, wait and see - old games arent bad just because they're old - i have fun with soul calibur again recently ^_^

edit: ....... ROFL (tries to not look at miyamoto anymore... *must... resist*)
