Lets see. By the size of my Final Fantasy collection, I guess you wouldn't really call me a major fan, but I've liked some of the games. I own
Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII the movie, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XI and the expansions, and Final Fantasy XII.

The following is mine:

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Final Fantasy III (DS)
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (DVD)

I've played through all of FFVII, and most of FFVI. I really want to get a copy of FFVI Advance, but with college and all, I haven't had time yet. Disappointing!

I only liked FF4 FF5 and FF6, any after that I couldn't care less. I'd rather play Tales of the Abyss.

The only way I'd play a new FF is if I was being paid $9 an hr to play it.

well the Legend games aren't really FF

if you seriously have FFII, III for NES, you either live in japan or imported them, two things I won't do. Same with FFV SNES

My list is pretty similar to use, just remove those games but add... FFVII and VIII for PC, and FFIII DS

In my house, between me and my brother we have:

Final Fantasy III (DS) (think this has a different name in US)
Final Fantasy VI (PS)
Final Fantasy VII (PS)
Final Fantasy VIII- I did have the PS version, but unfortunately lost the disk, so I have a PC version now.
Final Fantasy X (PS2)
Final Fantasy: Advent Children

We used to have Final Fantasy IX and X-2 as well, but got rid of them.

I think of all the FF games David and I have total, my favorite would have to be the first. Runner ups would be FF 4, 5, 6, and MQ (just because the game was so wierd). 2 was a bit confusing, but was great in my opinion. The Legend series was even more confusing.

From what I have seem of other FF games, my opinion still stands. I thought 10 was okay, and 8 was fine.

7 is right out in my opinion. 9 just had iffy graphics. I have heard rumors about 11 not being so great, but I have yet to play it. 10-2 was horrible in my opinion.

I thought 12 was pretty cool, but mostly because it brought back some familiar characters and ideas (like the lucavi and totema and final bosses as espers).

Too lazt to type system, but i got 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,10,10-2, and 12

I love 10 the best, and i actually enjoyed X-2 (what is this madness?!?!?!), but after beating it and getting the best ending, i decided i would rather re-play X than X-2 so i got rid of it.

Here is a better overview of my Final Fantasy viewpoint. Remember, this is totally based on my opinion from watching and playing the games.

Alex's Final Fantasy Ratings
Final Fantasy: Great game! #1 on my list!
Final Fantasy II: A bit confusing at first, but is a great game!
Final Fantasy III: Opinion pending.
Final Fantasy IV: Wonderful game! Loved the story and the characters!
Final Fantasy V: A bit confusing with the classes, but is a great game!
Final Fantasy VI: Great story! Memorable characters! Liked it a lot!
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest: A bit chumpy, but is a fun game overall!
The Final Fantasy Legend: Opinion pending.
Final Fantasy Legend II: Confusing and hard. Enemies keep targeting main character. Okay, but not great.
Final Fantasy Legend III: Opinion pending.
Final Fantasy VII: Hackneyed. A bit overused. Confusing and unamusing.
Final Fantasy VIII: Memorable characters. The rest is unknown to me.
Final Fantasy IX: Campy chibi graphics. Story is a bit iffy.
Final Fantasy Tactics: Great story. Memorable characters. Great battle style.
Final Fantasy X: Great story. Characters have great personalities. A bit confusing at points.
Final Fantasy X-2: Unamusing. Horrible clothing. Yuna was better in X.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance: Opinion pending.
Final Fantasy XI: Opinion pending.
Final Fantasy XII: Great to see memorable characters. Great new battle style.
Final Fantasy XIII: Opinion pending.
Final Fantasy Dirge of Cerberus: Opinion pending.
Final Fantasy Before Crisis: Opinion pending.

That's a pretty good collection http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif The next ones I intend to get are FFVI Advance and FFIII DS.
My brother owns our FFIV and FFVI for SNES, so I felt I should get the ones for GBA so I have my own copy. Granted, I do have V and VI with Anthology.

Um... hmm. I used to think I'd owned a lot of those games until I started reading your guys' lists!

FF1 (Japan) on GBA
FF2 (Japan) on GBA
FF3 (Japan) on DS
FF4 (Japan, FF2 NA) on PSone
FF5 (Japan) on PSone
FF6 (Japan, FF3 NA) on PSone
FF7 on PSone
FF8 on PSone
FF9 on PSone
FF10 on PS2
FF10-2 on PS2
FF11 on PS2 and later on computer
Tactics on PSone
Tactics Advance on GBA
And possibly some others I forgot.

Easily my favorite one was Tactics for PSone--totally amazing game on virtually every front. I even liked the confusing, convoluted, borderline ridiculous story about the Catholic church and monsters and zodiac stones and somehow it all ended up in a graveyard of airships and I was fighting a flying angel robot who had just burst out of my little sister's chest. Or something. But yeah, that's a definite renter if you've never played it before. And skip the crappy GBA Tactics, because it was crap.

I actually ended up enjoying Tactics on the GBA eventually, as soon as the the stupid rules had gone.
Apart from that the only one ive ever owned and completed is 7, played 8 - Copied version froze and id spent all afternoon on it, didnt save and didnt feel like doing it again ever. 9 was fun but something else must of come along, bear in mind i was playing these way after release.

You should try the original. At least for GBA or PSone. That is a great game there.

6 advance is great. Some of the things they added are really cool, like the new dungeon, spells and espers. It's definitely my favorite game of all time..I've gone through it countless times, learned everything about how the game worked, too...all of the programming glitches, messing with hex editors and game genie codes, etc..
