View Full Version : So are getting "Real ****" content for 2 months or what?

I don't see us getting a level cap increase and Hive S2 anytime soon, so what the hell are we supposed to do for 2 months?

There better be more updates other than trash events like statues and real weapons that nobody will use.

Please let there be...

If you haven't found what you've been looking for in a year, then I'm sorry.

And how come its only people that post on the forums that usually respond with "Go play something else" "Quit!" "Nobody cares!" "They update enough" etc etc yet any time you play with real people that play in missions theres a bunch of pissed off realists that realise we're getting bummed this billing cycle.

There's no word of anything special coming our way, so feel free to quit or whatever.

[EDIT] Edited for typos.

I'm just severely cutting down my play time (though with school in 2 days I don't really have a choice). I'll still get on to hunt when the ol' guild rolls along and we get bored of CSS, DoW, etc. >_>

But until Fami or Hive S2/new UPAs are released, I'm taking a break from this game. Decos don't interest me.

That doesn't require you to sign into the roller coaster of porn that is the 360 Demo >_<

Exactly. ST needs to stop looking at content updates as a privilege and start looking at it as an entitlement.

Just like every other RPG does. (And I don't want to play another RPG, for nearly a year I've paid $10 a month to play this, I should be able to play this with some sort of new content atleast one every 2-3 weeks.

I agree, Sega does need to add content but what can we do but wait...I'm sure we would get more if they stop pumping out no good games like Full auto 2 (where else is our money going)

Thankfully I'll have plenty of other games to play instead of torturing myself with miscellaneous PSU crap.

What other RPG does? Go look at the news page for World of Warcraft, the largest MMO out there, they haven't received any new content or patches since JULY 10th. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Up until now Sega has been very consistent with giving us new content on a regular basis.

2007-8-7 01:00
New Lobby, Co-Op and S2 Missions, High Rank Weapons!
2007-7-24 01:00
New Online Story and S2 Rank Missions!
2007-7-12 01:00
Super Holy Light Fesitval Begins!
2007-6-28 01:00
Firebreak ends, new challenges await!
2007-5-25 01:00
Operation Firebreak Unleashed!

And now we're running out of new content to add, but at least we know that's because they've dedicated their time to making a large expansion soon. I'm sure SoA realizes that a lot of people will cancel until AoI, but there's also nothing they can do about it. $10 a month barely covers server costs, if we weren't getting all our content from SoJ we would probably be losing money.

Everything we're getting in content updates was already created, on the disk, and ready for use from day 1. They aren't "making" new content for us, they're unlocking what they've already created a year ago. This past year has been spent creating new content for AoI which will take a year to unlock while they work on the next expansion.

The whole idea of unlocked content is grade-A pure bullshit. Because the content they've been unlocking for the past year wasn't "extras" to keep us interested - it was the very meat and marrow of the game itself. Now, I agree that there should be some unlocked content. A handful of missions, special events, some goodies here and there... but give me a break. Selling half a product to people and expecting them to shell out $10 a month stringing them along as they deliver the game to them in pieces is beyond retarded. I really think more people would have been better satisfied with nearly everything unlocked right from the outset - and then giving us a few more special events, like FireBreak, every two - three months.

$10 a month barely covers server costs

LOL. If that were the case, games structured like Blue Burst and Guild Wars would be impossible. The online fees are Sega's bread and butter with PSU. That's where they draw the REAL profit.

My big recommendation is to play something other than just PSU. For example, right now I'm trying to get all the achievements in Project Sylpheed. When Eternal Sonata ships, I'll probably be doing the same for that game.

It doesn't matter how much content they release or don't release on PSU... you get burnt out on a game when you play it day in and day out.

Not true. The graphics and animations are there yes - they have to since the PS2 can't handle large patches - but the actual missions are on the servers. They can add or change as many of these as they like.

Regardless of whether they're on the disk or on the server, it doesn't matter. All of them were finished and completed before the game ever shipped. They had the release schedule planned out from the very beginning. They're not working on them as they go. They aren't creating new content. At least, not for this version. They're working on AoI content now. Or rather, they're probably beginning work on the next expansion's content now, and bug fixing/testing AoI.

Honestly, I would expect people to be MORE outraged if it were the case that ST was creating the content as they go. PSU had been in production since, Christ, 2001? People started hearing rumblings of it coming out of the JP ships on Dreamcast v.2. Before Ep I & II was ever launched for the NGC. And if what they gave us with PSU's launch was all the work they had done up to that point, then they truly gave their customers a good hard @#%!ing.

It was specifically stated that the launch of PSU was postponed in 2005 to work make sure that ALL updates for a year to come were prepared which is why it came out in 2006 and not 2005.
