Just wanted to ask. I still say that Soul Calibur is the best until Mortal Kombat: DA came out. That game is da bomb!!

Soul Calibur is the only 3D fighter I've really liked all that much, so that was an easy pick. Virtua Fighter 4 was pretty cool too, but I've never enjoyed that series too much and I probably never will.
SC is TEH 0wNz!11!

It's all about VF4 ... until EVO comes out that is. Been playing Virtua Fighter since the first one was released in the arcades. They only game that comes close to VF's perfection, is Soul Calibur, IMO.

SC on the DC has got to be the hands-down best fighting game that i played. After VF2 came out i pretty much lost interest in the VF series. MK:DA is ok, its way better than any other MK other than MK2. Hopefully the sequel (if there is one after DA) will have more than ONE LOUSY FATALITY for each character. Obviously the best fighting game visually would have to be the DOA series. Even DOA on the PSX looked tight

I'll say Soul Calibur is my favorite, but I think I actually like Soul Blade a bit more. VF 4 is pretty cool but damn is there a lot in that game, talk about hardcore.

And that's what keeps me coming back. I never truly "master" a character, I can always find something new, to keep me going.

Virtua Fighter 4...it BARELY inches pass Soul Calibur for me. In my opinion, VF 4 has more depth, and mastering a specific character (Go Wolf Go!) is very rewarding. Props to Sega for this one.

Wolf is my fav too. Can't wait to get my hands on EVO and try out his new stance and 7 new ground thows.

hey hey, what about the fanboys/girls that like Project Justice? Are you nuts? There's a whole cult behind that series. Dissing the whole game gets you a warning.

Soul Calibur all the way. I tried VF4 in the arcade and i hated it. Its too slow. I do think Soul Calibur 2 is better than the first one. I really like DOA3 on the Xbox, and i cant wait For DOAXtreme Beach Volleyball........ http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

well then, i'd pick either soul calibur or virtua fighter, but since i only own the first one it gets my vote.

Tekken 2/Tag, and Battle Arena Toshinden 2. Those are pretty much the only two 3D fighters I've managed to keep an interest in for a while.

The other Tekkens, as well as the original Toshinden (not the god-awful 3rd installment) deserve honourable mention for presence of gameplay, or many fun characters, but not both.

Soul Calibur....barely. VF4 is maddeningly deep, but they actually took a step back from VF3, and didnt own DOA2 like they said they would. I also felt the Modes to be somewhat lacking in comparision to SC, but damnit if I dont love the RPGy Kumite mode...

And the hell with Xmen or Kabuto, DOA2/3 easily beats that crap.

I CANT BELIEVE YOU LEFT THE DOA SERIES OUT!!! *sigh* well I voted neither... doa3 is the best fighting game I ever played. I bought SC a few years back and didnt like it all that much. I like fighting with fists and feet, not swords and shit. vf4 looked pretty cool though. I wish they would make vf4 for xbox.

SoulCalibur.

Where'd Seung Mina and Lizardman get to in the sequel, though? 0_o; Figures they take out my favorite characters...

Does Super Smash Bros. Meleé count as a "3D fighting game?"

Dead or Alive. No, none of that Next Gen stuff, I'm talking about the original ones for Saturn and Playstation. <.< Old school gaming at its best!
