This is an outrage. Tobal fans haven't waited all these years for a Tobal game for mobile phones.

SE knows dam well that Tobal fans, fighting gamers, and the majority of gamers in general won't buy a game for the mobile phones, only super fanatical collectors do.

This is just their way of lazily milking off of a cult classic franchise that deserves a true sequel and 3rd return to the console spotlight.

Some hopefuls may believe this is a sign of a possible Tobal 3 for a console in the near future, but maybe not for another decade if SE feels like it.

but anyways the creators of Tobal games, Dream Factory, have left SE looong ago, and have made horrible and uninspiring games like Crimson Tears and Kakuto Chojin. so a Tobal 3 seems highly unlikely. all SE could do is re-release Tobal 2 (which they already did in Japan, but not internationally), or break it down to fit it in a cell phone. what a waste indeed.

They did the same thing to Parasite Eve. And Front Mission 5 isn't even scheduled for a US release, despite good sales and reviews.

The game was okay. When Tobal 2 never came out, I was saddened.
Now if Dragon Ball could learn a thing or two from Tobal's fighting system, considering
that it's made by the same creator.. =x

There are fans of Superman 64. You just never hear from them because they would be killed the moment they admit to it in public.

Square's on a high horse now because anything with their name on it will sell. It's gonna take a while til they either realize they need to start making quality games again or just quit.

Dragonball games became good when the Tenkaichi series was made. it's the most accurate and faithful fighting game that feels like the anime battles instead of virtua fighter-esque bouts.
