Heh, nope. I think Air was drawn by Yukimaru Katsura and pretty much animated by Visual Key, the girl in the Sig is from "Crossworld",a Visual Novel drawn by Izumi Sakurazawa. (one of my favourite artists)
The eyes are easy to differ.I always know if it's Izumi Sakurazawa's art by looking at the characters eyes.

The evolution of my signature~ I'm a big fan of keeping it relatively clean looking... lots of silhouettes and geometric shapes~ I was originally going for kind of that 60s/70s james bond kind of spy thing. But it eventually degraded into quick vector art and obscure poses.

My sig however is in JPG since BMP was too big. It' s shame since the little feathery effect was lost but it's still neat for a 5 minute work.

It feels a little small, but that's unfortunately the edge of the screenshot on the right there. Might end up just cutting Nai out of the original screenshot and getting an empty shot of Vio Tonga for the background so I can widen it a bit and have it not so small...

This is a typical type of sig people want to have.

Sigs are basically something you end each post with.

Forexample; when you write a letter you always end with
From,
Sayara.

This is the forum's take on it, but people use it to show off pictures, or their PSO/U character levels and things, or use it as advertisement.

As for getting one, you can either make yourself one or ask someone else to do it for you, so long as you specify what you want.

Finally got a new sig I liked done. Fairly minimal this time. Cropped background shot of Nai in Saguraki mid-Rising Strike. (It was funny, he was frozen at the time, but the ice crystal didn't show up.) The usual head-and-shoulders shot with an outer glow on it, and lyrics from Save This World to take up dead space in the corner.

It really depends on what you're trying to do when you compress it down. Many graphics programs can allow you to optimize the size~ But theres several simple ways you can cut the size down.

If your signature contains a lot of solids like mine or Ami's does, then saving it as PNG is an optimal choice. You don't lose any quality, and the picture size can become extremely small.

If you're saving it in PNG or GIF, then lower the color depth to 256 colors. Make it non-interlaced. Then, you can control the size of the final product by adjusting the level of dithering.

If you're saving it as JPG, I recommend you shoot for as close to 35kb as possible without going over. You can adjust the compression value to adjust size. Also make sure the picture is progressive. If you're using about 150px hieght, you can actually get away with a rather low compression value (around 10 for a 150x500 image).

Really, you shouldn't use GIF. You can usually make it look just as good with PNG at the same size.

*Special note* I did filter the picture before compressing it so I could get optimal results when compressing. I did low tolerance fills on the background, and did an edge preserving smooth to remove jpeg compression artifacing. As a side effect, it does make some of the edges look a bit sharper. But it also brings the PNG size down by about 5-10kb, as well as making the PNG image look better.

As you can see, theres very little difference between the original and the JPG compressed one. Infact, most differences you can see are very subtle and are more largely a result of the filters I did.

The PNG doesn't quite look as good. Obviously dithering is going to have some detrimental effect on the picture. It isn't as bad when you have the true originals though.

Zoooooooooomed in. Bottom examples are of my current signature. Its compressed in PNG down to 18k. Since I made the original, I could keep the number of colors low (around 10k). So when I bring the colors down to 256 colors, the effect is less apparent, and I am not forced to use dithering to compensate. Ami's picture on the other hand, used ~25k colors, but a large number of those are probably from JPEG artifacing. And as a side note, the above picture is saved in PNG, 16mil colors, and is less than 35kb.

Well, now that I've hit level 100 I decided to go and try a new signature. For this one I tried to make it so that the flash video won't use as much CPU power when visible, a complaint I got from Remedy about my first sig (though he's been the only one to complain).

EDIT: I have no idea what it was that messed up the text for Meyfei's but looks cool on mine. I will figure out in time and will possibly fix his sig.

Hero Tales is pretty big in filesize though, huh? If you knocked that down to 35KB, it wouldn't look as great as it does now =/

What do you need to know?

If you want one like say Regulas its a matter of cutting out your PSU characters in a paint program and then doing some photoshop magic to put them in.

Finally, I've got an up-to-date picture of my main. Ryna was kind enough to help me out by photographing Astarin for me.

I was hoping for something a little... grander, but turns out my version of Photoshop is dead, so until I get something new, this'll do. For being done totally in Paint, I think it turned out okay.

And Ragolismine, I like the one you're using for your sig now. It's still a big hard to read the "Radiant" text, though. Perhaps you could make it a bit more vibrant, like the blue you've changed "Legend" to.

then I took an illustrator class and was exposed to the many things that can be done in illustrator. It's so awesome and fun! I pretty much made my entire siggy in illustrator, aside from some touch ups in photoshop with my actual character ^^

As I know many of my friends know by now, I am working on a video game. Well, I don't feel I have enough for a demo yet, but I decided to have this sig for a bit. A sort of "To Be Announced" thing.

Sig size can only go to 35kb, you're at an uncool-beans 141kb.

cool siggy, lol - Yoyu likes. :D but if it doesn't match the forums specs, it might not last long if you don't re-fit the format to match. it can still look clean as a .jpg & saved specifically for the internet without losing visual quality.

n00b question, what are the size & memory specs around here? :wacko:

Try this, ToH. I don't know if PSOW will cause any problems, but Photobucket says it's just under 35K.

Edit: Unfortunately, it's started getting a little grainy (file quality needed bringing down a lot, even in Photoshop's 'Save for Web' option.

Get Paint.NET.

It's a nice freeware download which is pretty much a simplier version of Photoshop. Can make sigs on that quite easily. ^^ Just google it to find the site.
