Hi. Now just as the title says, I would like to know which quest YOU think gets you the most kills for unsealing the J-Sword. This would be for the benefit of those who own a legit Sealed J and want to unseal it or those who are curious which quest has most kills per minute. I, being one that owns a J-Sword, would be grateful for your opinion http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif!

All edits were for grammar that I didn't catch while editing it the first time http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

*If anyone wants to join in this research, follow my guidelines and post your results. Also, you don't have to use a Sealed J-Sword to get the timing for the quest*

A few things to keep in mind:

This is on PSOGC so I can't get online.

I will be doing these quests in Normal mode as I am not after xp, just for kills.

After having heard a few suggestions, I will try them and list how many kills per minute I achieve.

Even if I unseal the J-sword during the testing process, I will continue for the sake of data.

I'll do each quest 10 times and get an average time.

Things that will affect time:

Talking to the client, any walking time in Pioneer2, warp time, and those un-avoidable things. (The quest will be done from start to finish. (before talking to the hunters guild to loading time after the quest)

It will be done at a comfortable pace

Things that won't affect time:

Since it's normal mode there’s really no point in picking up items or visiting the shops so that won't happen.

You may now post your suggestions!

Suggestions list

The Retired Hunter - well, this quest gives you 99 monsters per. and at my fastest, I only got 6.3 kills per minute {not worth it}

Addicting food (full cave 1*) - Avg. time: 11.439(minutes), 136~ kills per, 11.889 kills per minute

Central Dome Fire Swirl - as Splash said, there's too much of everything else to do, I didn't even try it because of the fires that need extinguishing and whatnot

The Fake In Yellow - Avg. time: 4.06(minutes), 47 kills per, 11.576 kills per minute

From the Depths - untested

* = This is the quick route except I choose the north path (lotsa monsters) instead of the east path (7 lillies), so in reality, it's the full route minus 7.

personally i would say the mission in the ruins where the old hunter dude wants to kill 10k monsters before he dies, and you have to finish off, what, 150, 200?
im not sure though, its a quick quest, 10 mins tops, and thats if you're slow.
and also, you still can go online with psogc, all you need is an ethernet cord, and adaptor fo youre gc, and decent google searching skilz.
but really, online would be so much faster, with endless nightmare, maximum attack, phantasmal world, etc

It's 99 for Retired Hunter on Normal difficulty.

What I suggest is you do Addicting Foods, Caves 1 portion only, with two options:

At full route. 159 enemies in approximately 12-18 minutes + 1 minute for loading and piping down.

or

At short route. 109 enemies in approximately 9-14 minutes + 1 minute for loading and piping down.

This is assuming you don't actually stall between rooms and you kill everything at a fast pace. Each room should take about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Then there are puzzles (i.e. Switches) which take about 2-3 minutes total for all, due to walking and then touching them. Then you have walking back and destroying the other monsters back in the other rooms if you take the long route. This is approximately 10-20 seconds to do so.

I have a legit Sealed J-Sword too that I want to unseal eventually. I tried doing Normal mode and was just too bored 1-hitting absolutely everything. My unsealing will be done on Ultimate. I'm still unsure about when you kill say 3 monsters at the same time, for example, counts as 1 kill on the SJS counter or 3.

Okay, now that I'm back from school, I'll do some testing now, please feel free to suggest more

Truly, the "best" way to actually unseal the sword is to just not pay attention to the fact you are unsealing it.

Central Dome Fire Swirl is really not a good quest to do it. Far too much conversations and the need to clear out some fire really makes it slow.

You were right Splash, it's too annoying extinguishing fires and stuff..

Unsealed Door doesn't have Ash in it.

And perhaps so, but there are 2 or 3 sets where the NPC will communicate with you. That deducts about 1 minute or so. And then you have the NPC who tries to be helpful and knock things over while you are killing something (i.e. Gillchics). Besides that, you have the flying Canadines which will be able to sustain in air for a given time. Enemy kills would then vary because of this.

Hey thedelsabre, if you want I would try in the depths for you! Please PM me about how to do this correctly and how much time I should take. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif I do not have a Sealed J-sword, but as you said I could still help. If there are any others you need testing I can try those too! (I rarely work and I don't have much school, and this will help with experience so its a great advantage for me).

Sorry its been at least six or seven days since the last post.
