I haven't seen another post on this yet. A post at ScoreHero recently announced that the final setlist for GH3 was leaked. This happened on September 16th, and since then, a handful of songs have been confirmed- all of which appear on this leaked setlist. So although it could just be a coincidence, it appears to be the real thing. As for the songs (I don't know if it's alright to post this, but if not, delete it):

Also, if you don't want to see the setlist, turn away now.

The Stone Roses- She Bangs The Drums

Anarchy in the U.K was confirmed just recently, which adds some legitimacy to this list, but it's worth nothing that the Atreyu and Velvet Revolver songs confirmed previously aren't mentioned, which means this is either incomplete, or a hoax.

A load of those have definately been confirmed, so I hope this list is credible. Link to the story is here: http://www.megatonik.com/2007/09/16/rumor-guitar-hero-3-setlist-leaked/

As much as I don't like Slipknot, Before I Forget should be fun to play, and I'm really hyped for DragonForce, Maiden and Metallica too. Can't wait.

Legitimate list or not, this does have a lot of the already confirmed songs, so it can be used as a fairly reliable source of songs for anyone who's not upto date on the confirmed list.

I'm leaning towards thinking it's real, or at least an earlier/partially complete setlist... although iirc a couple of the recently announced tracks like Kool Thing and Anarchy in the UK were 'leaked' just before this list was, so it could all still be a hoax assuming whoever made it was on the ball following all this stuff

As for Velvet Revolver being missing, having the band announce at least 2 songs in the game rather than it coming from Neversoft makes me suspect that it could well be DLC rather than on the disk

And now, watch me be horribly wrong http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

That's a pretty solid list either way.

Oh gawd, I lol'd at Slayer <_<

This segment of GH is definitely going to be a lot tougher.

AND I just saw In Flames in there... why that song? That cd failed D:

fwqlkefjbcsef They should have put something from the Clayman or Whoracle albums [/rant]

I would've preferred Angel of Death by Slayer over Raining Blood, but metal is metal I guess.

The In Flames song I'm mixed on. While I don't think it's as good as some of their other songs, I used to hate kinda similar songs like The Light that Blinds and Six on GH2, now I love them http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Can't wait to play Number of the Beast though http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

god, I'm behind, is GH 3 for PS2 as well or just 360? Cause I like the look of a lot of those songs, ESPECIALLY Through the Fire and Flames

Gah, I also saw the new guitars that are coming with GH III (well on the Best Buy Preorder box anyways >_>)

The black Gibson Les Paul controller is really hawt. I've always been a fan of the Goth series by Epiphone and the limited edition Midnight Black Les Paul (emg series) released by Gibson a while back.

I'm getting this for 360, mainly because the PS2 version won't have online compatibility.

Yeah it's coming out for PS2, Ps3, 360, AND the Wii. The only difference is that you can't play the online segment of GH on PS2 =/

EDIT: I'm reading it up on sites, and I'm not so sure about PS2 Online compatibility anymore. Sites selling the preorder say it has online, but I remember reading a review somewhere saying ps2 was the only one without online <_<

Yeah, whether the PS2 version will be online remains to be seen. Apparently there's a DS version in development too, but there's been no updates on it lately.

I'm getting the Wii version, so I have a reason to get my money's worth out of the Wii, after months of it collecting dust.

damn I don't play GH but that list looks pretty sick. especially featuring Muse and Smashing pumpkins. Some White Stripes would of been pretty sick too http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Blarg. I think I'm gonna stick with sucking at GH2/Rock Band, kthnx http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

*isn't really interested in that list at all*

Well, maybe I'll be surprised. Even if I didn't enjoy the songs, playing them sure is fun. And maybe I'll get some surprises (Less Talk More Rokk anyone?)

I can't wait to attempt (fail) DragonForce- Through the Fire and Flames.

Neversoft had a working setup of GH3 at some show in the US (no idea what), and most people who tried to pass it failed, at 1%.

Yes, 1%. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Mind, with an intro like this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=_ZutgOyA9EY), its no surprise http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

It's actually possible to play a Dragonforce song on Guitar Hero?? =o
Ladies and gentlemen, prepare to lose your fingers. That Japanese guy's insane x]

Also note that was only the intro, a small bit of the start, and the ending. Fill that with 5 minutes more, filled with guitar solos everywhere, one of which is just over a minute long http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I know there's a lot of DragonForce haters, but this is going to be GH3's Jordan*, no doubt about it..

Mind, at least if there's a regular face-off mode, you won't be able to fail the song- it'd just be a case of who played it the least terrible.

*Just a billion times harder?

If they put a Slipknot song in they should put something before the Vol. 3.

I mean you have some pretty good ones from their past albums.

*coughhereticanthemcough*...

But other than that its a good set list. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I have a hacked version with Through the Fire and the Flames as one of the tracks. It's pretty brutal. Get comfortable with two hand tapping now.

Yeah, I still need to not suck at that. I've seen the custom version of TTFAF, and it looks insane. I can't pass Jordan on GH2 yet, so yeah, very little hope of passing this http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

...The custom/hacked notesheet for Through the Fire and Flames on Guitar Hero II is nothing compared to what the real one in Guitar Hero III. Go look it up on YouTube or something, heh...

Random question. It sounds stupid in my head, but I want to ask before I plop money down on anything.

Will the controllers that came with Guitar Hero 2 work with Guitar Hero 3? And, vice versa, will the Guitar Hero 3 controllers work with Guitar Hero 2?

Neith
Oct 2, 2007, 06:00 PM
From what I've been hearing, yeah, it sounds like the GH2 controllers will work on GH3 and vice versa. I'll try and have a look around later, to see if I can find the source though.

Since I already have 2 GH guitar controllers, you'd think getting a third would be stupid. I want a Les Paul though http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I don't know, the PS2 GH3 controller is drop dead sexy. If I end up buying all this Guitar Hero goodness, I plan on using that one for all of my Guitar Hero rocking.

The Rock Band controllers are sexier, by far, though...

...But I'll have the Guitar Hero III controller there to cover for the other guitar/bass part, anyway, on both games.

This won't be the whole setlist, apparently, I've heard rumors of another Bang Camaro song. (Push Push (Lady Lightning from guitar hero 2))

Meh, a plain looking strat ain't got nothing on the black Les Paul (and I'm not a huge fan of Les Pauls but it has me sold) or the black Kramer.
