I need tips.

I just bought PSO Ep3 the other day. It is not here yet, but I would like to get some tips on what NOT to do, so as to avoid screwing myself over.

Its a real self explanatory game really. All I can say is, play it. As to not what to do? You will soon see by trial and error. I hope you enjoy the game. I did.

The best way to learn to play this game is through trial and error at the start. Get some matches under your belt and then come back. It'll be easier to give you tips once you understand the game mechanics and terminology.

Don't worry about "screwing" yourself over. There's nothing in the game that you can't do over.

The only suggestion I will offer for now is to talk to all the NPCs after each mission while going through Story Mode. Sometimes they will give you cards.

There is "Story Mode" and "Free Mode" http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

The game is basically Yu-Gi-Oh and strategy game put in one. At first it will be difficult but after a couple of rounds you should be ok.

Also, the Hunters or Arkz you control talk to them often after every mission. They can give you new cards or new quests. Or some funny dialouge(Talk to them three times always to read the whole thing).

Oh and try to rack up as much damage as you can to the opposing side before defeating them. It should give an S-rank score often.

The strategy element is really fun, and the music in this game is glorious imo. Despite what people say about the game, I think it's really, really great.

Well, timeto shell out my opinion.
Really, IMHO, this game was much, much better online. Multiplayer is what made this game really really fun.
Dont get me wrong, Offline is good too, but with more people is when this game gets really going

Biggest tip for you at the moment, play multi player by your self or with friends to rack up some Easy S ranks to get Better cards and remember if you have rare cards... ex: sange yamato souleater or w/e it depends on the card and the ability that the card has describe on it that have a important role to play.

oh and watch those saves as it saves TOO often

I got it today, and I only played story mode so far, I made the same character I have in PSO (Lance) although I don't think he would have his own card to battle xD. I don't remember what rating I got, but I hope I will do better.

There are only four things that bother me about Ep3.
1.) It is 21 years in the future. I am still playing the same Alex as in 1 and 2. No change. Wierd.
2.) I am used to Tyrell being in office. It feels wierd without him in the picture.
3.) The OOPS incident. I have 2 casts. I don't want them to have died.
4.) Hunters have changed their job. No longer freelance warriors, we work for the government.

Lol, my character has the same appearance also. xD I don't feel weird without Tyrell, actually I don't mind him being gone, maybe because Episode III has more story? I don't really know. I don't mind the hunters changing their jobs, that means I have to do the quests to continue the story (I think). I feel weird when the side quests would have more story than the main game, you know? I hope you understand what I mean.

Well, as I played it even more, I usually got C+ or D's, at first. My first S rank was in the Challenge quest, but only because I was stuck and could not move to the left, only way left was up, and of course my COM opponent kept using creatures and I could not move!!! I had 40 turns, I gave 162 attack damage, and received only 16! I felt very good but afterwards I was getting creamed. I was thinking if I should train in battle mode by myself to see if that would help.
