Lost Saved Games in Story Mode

Anyone else have this problem before:

Two nights ago I saved my extra mode character then logged out. Came back and played Network mode that night, then logged out again.

Next day I went to play extra mode but it didn't show up after selecting Story Mode. Only Story mode was an option. I started story mode and selected continue but it said that I didn't have any game data. The night before I had 4 saved slots used with saved data. The next night nothing.

Now I can't access extra mode. How can this happen?
Any ideas? Network mode works fine.

I assume this is ps2 and so, I think its a bad idea to save story/extra mode on the same memory card as the network mode. Just buy 2 memory cards, it prevents this sort of thing.

Sorry, guess that would have helped. . . this is the PC, not ps2.
