I've lived out in this region for over a decade now. In that time, I've come to accept some of the natural disasters that occur here as an annoyance, but part of everyday life as well.

However, this is the first time it seems to me that we're in actual natural disaster territory. There aren't any fires burning close to where I live, but the winds are blowing in plenty of smoke, and the roads are carrying in thousands of evacuees. The media footage from Qualcomm Stadium added to the what-the-hell feeling.

Largest evacuation in the history of the state? I believe it.

Pretty much wondering how anyone else who may have been affected by these fires is doing right now.

im inland in LA (the san fernando valley area), and the worst we get is horrible air quality (more than we're normally used to, haha) and a smoky scent.

my partner in crime in PSU however, lives in SD and says it looks like dusk at noon. the skies are blackened and its raining ash. he's doing ok though, no threat of evacs. hope he can make it out here safe on the weekend http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

hope everyone being affected in SoCal stays safe, and stay indoors for a while!

Likewise, hope all you guys affected by the fires are doing well, and that the damage is kept to a minimum. I was in SD over the summer, quite a beautiful place. Old Town and Little Italy for the win. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

just heard from my aunt, thank god...she only a neighborhood down from one of the blocks that got completely engulfed by the fires. She was evaced, but her house wasn't even destroyed. Extremely lucky...

The wind changed, and now all the smoke from San Diego is blowing over to my area. Three straight days of smog so far.

My sympathies go out to those were unfortunate to get caught in this mess. I've heard of some friends who were near it but were luckily unaffected other than ash and smog. I sure hope those insurance companies pull through...

I saw a youtube video of the areas surrounding the fires. The sky was red, and it was windy as a hurricane. It reminded me of Oblivion when you went close to the portals, and the sky turned volcanic red. Anyways, let's hope this disaster ends soon.

I heard Fox News was already trying to blame the fires on Al-Queda.
