360 Servers?

Evening everyone...first off, guess I should say hello as I've only recently discovered this site...and extremely helpful it is, too!

Just a quick question really - is anyone having issues getting on to any of the 360 servers? Every time I try I'm getting the 'server may be undergoing maintenance' message. Is there any maintenance scheduled that I missed? If so, do excuse me...it's been a long day at work!

Looking forward to forum'ing and maybe partying with you all...*waves*

If you got your hunters lincence I wouldn't see what the problem is, server maitenance is on thursday.

That's what I thought....worrying.

I was playing yesterday (and have been pretty solidly since 1up kicked off) so I can't see why it's playing up. Will try rebooting my 360 and PC but beyond that I'm stumped! My technical knowledge really does just extend to 'keep switching it on and off in the vain hope that the equipment in question gets so embarrassed it starts to work again' and that's about it.

Technology, feh.

Primary: 4.2.2.1
Secondary: 4.2.2.2

Thanks for the assistance...I'm getting onto Live without any issues at present, however. Just downloaded a video from there to test it, and ran the network check, and they were both fine.

As for the router, I have been playing for about a year and haven't changed my setup (mainly as if I tried to, I would surely break the internets) so I'm running out of ideas now! I checked the licence information on XBL and as that's all ok, monthly billing as per usual, goes out middle of the month, blah blah.

Typical, I managed to solo myself a Quick last night, thought I may finally make a bit of money - I'm probably the world's poorest fortegunner - and now I can't play. It's a conspiracy, I tells ya! *shakes fist at invisible conspirators*

Also, apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong part of the forums - I couldn't really find anywhere else that seemed suitable and I'm sure most people are happily playing now (Not jealous, nooooo...sob).

Still no luck with anything. Sychosis, I checked my DNS settings and they were already as you specified - many thanks, I've turned everything on and off again a multitude of times and until SEGA get back to me with an answer (which I'm hoping won't just be along the lines of 'Try the XBL help page'), I'm going to search through these forums before retiring with a cup of tea and season 3 of Transformers (Gen1, naturally) to keep me company.

It's odd, it doesn't even seem to be TRYING to connect to the servers, I go to the XBL option from the main screen, it sits on the 'attempting to connect' message for a few seconds (and the lines in the background aren't even scrolling as they usually do), then it lets out the annoyed grunting noise and tells me the servers are probably all maintenanced up on. I just don't think it's trying hard enough.

I dunno, best event I've participated in on PSU and it all goes horribly wrong. Thanks again for all the assistance and with any luck I'll be back to plundering the cup missions in no time...

Tried changing them? I have to alternate once every few months for some odd reason :/

Not as yet, as I really do know very little about technical issues or what I'd have to change the DNS thingie to. *hides face in shame*
Knowing my luck with machinery, I'd manage to make everything stop working...literally everything. And I've grown rather partial to the universe as it is.

Again though, your assistance is greatly appreciated, makes a new forum person feel most welcome!

Thanks omega! I had finally worked out a strategy - albeit a panicky screaming one - so that I could search for a Quick for a friend whilst soloing the EX mission. Did a multitude of runs yesterday, found one, thought that would be a good time to finally get some sleep, then come back today and the big, beautiful world of PSU servers have run off and left me. Didn't even leave a note.

I had this issue.

Turn off your xbox, unplug it and your router, Wait about 5 minutes. Then start it all back up again and it worked great.

No, don't kill the thread yet, I'm having exactly the same problem, except now it's gotten worse, and instead of pausing, and telling me it's under maintenance, as soon as I'm on the connect screen, a little message is waiting for me 'cannot connect to psu server' and happens again and again. ARGH killing me.
