Yeah, I know this is directly related to PSO, but....has anyone else ever had a 'fauly gd-rom drive'. The drive on both my own and my brother's dreamcasts refuse to boot up. My laser refuses to move up and down the track and his wont let his own DC stay on for very long. I was wondering if anyone ever found a fix for this BESIDES getting another Dreamcast. (Just trying to avoid a few odd posts there.) Any good help is appreciated.

You could buy another laser assembly.

No, seriously. Quite a few import sites sell Dreamcast parts. Here's an example, although Lik-Sang is sold out...

Aside from that, all I can recommend is shipping it off to Sega, unless you personally know an electronics technician. I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but maybe someone else has repaired it. I work with computers personally, but nothing as delicate as lasers... I'd just replace the whole assembly.
