Got the demo a week or so ago (whenever it was first released) and played through it. The graphics were gorgeous but I'm not totally convinced I will buy it. I was really looking forward to it, but once I played it, it just seemed like more of the same. I need to ditch FPS games for awhile I guess as I'm getting bored with them.

I never cared for Far Cry myself. I thought it was overrated and bland at best. Sure it looked pretty but it had no content to it. I would've tried the demo but the connection here is shit and I'm not all that interested in the first place based on what I've heard from other people that also disliked Far Cry. I might pick it up eventually, but it will be after a number of other games as it's definitely not high on my priority list.

This is one of the games that I'm using to benchmark potential setups for a new gaming rig I'm building...along with Supreme Commander, which seems to own just about every rig less than $40,000. Anyway, it looks beautiful. I hope the final product is as good as the eye candy.

Got a new computer yesterday and decided to pick this up...I'll give detailed impressions and screenshots in a bit. But so far, this wraps up my feelings...

BEST FIRST PERSON SHOOTER EVER!

So far I've read that it is rather mediocre and already in need of a patch, not to mention that SLI 8800GTX's can't even begin to handle the game on DX10 (I believe I read on overclock.net that someone with such a rig averaged 10 fps or something).

The game really is more of a benchmark at the moment, but that will change when Nvidia decides to finally remove the crown from the G80 cards. I can hardly tell what ATi is up to anymore :/.

The PC game to beat right now is Call of Duty 4, no question. I've played none of these titles, but CoD is doing very well even with Gears of War and Crysis competing.

Im running the game of GTS 8800 Quad Core with 2GB of Ram. Im currently running the game on DX10 medium with 1920x1280(I think thats it can't remember). I could raise it to high but I have to update my drivers...unfortunately vista has been giving me problems. I haven't had any frame rate issues on medium, but rocks and foliage pop up randomly in the distance sometimes.(Bothers me a ton.)

Other that the game looks absolutely amazing. Not quite as good as I was expecting(Trailers seem to looks a lot better than the game really is) but it still graphically the best looking game I've ever seen. The graphics and physics immerse you in the experience. I love how A LOT of things in the game can be blown up. I squad of koreans were pursuing me into the a building when I took out my launcher shot at the entrance. The resulting explosion blew out the back wall and tore through the ceiling. It was awesome.

Im not quite finished with the game, but I'll tell you about what I think about the game so far. As of right now, the Single player IS the best out this year. While other shooters still throw you into a simple, straight-forward linear experience...Crysis seems a world ahead. There SO many ways to approach a situation with the open-ended enviroments, and the nano-suit(Which I'll talk about later). The levels themselves are SO expansive. Plus, theres no one path they force you to go to get to an objective. AI is pretty solid, they will attempt to flank you, and pursue you quite aggresively. Theres a couple of instances where the AI kinda acts...strangely. But as a whole its quite good.

The Nano-suit. This feature by itself is simply awesome. You have different powers: strength, cloak, Sheild, speed. It opens so many posibilities gameplay -wise and how you deal with situations. Despite the fancy suit, you die fast...REALLY fast(even on normal). This game really forces you to think, and use your powers to the best of your abilities. Most of the time I engage in Guerilla warfare with the koreans. I stake up a position against the enemy, while they attempt to flank and overtake me, and cloak and position myself at a different cover.

So far its the best shooters I've ever played. I'll have screenshots up as soon as I get fraps up and running.

I would call it first person stealth instead of shooter, but who cares? This game rocks hard. I really liked the encounter in the graveyard, and storming the enemy ship to disable the jammer and then painting it with a laser for an airstrike.http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

The tank sequence......not so much. I haven't touched the game in two days because of it. I'll get back on it tomorrow maybe.

Yeah I do use the stealth feature a lot. Its just so useful even though it doesn't last long.
