PSU startup question

This is probably an ooooold question but, when I launch psu, a little window pops up with storyline mode, network mode, options etc. But when I press storyline mode or network, for that matter, nothing happens. I know this problem used to exist, but what do I do about it?

found it, apparently directX wasn't up to date... which i would find weird, but whatever.

I have the same problem. Maybe i'll update direct x as well. Even though....I do have the newest one.....I think......
