Odds are great that if I can find it tomorrow, I'll be picking it up, thanks to a random large check I got in the mail the other day.

I was wondering if anyone else is picking this up for the Xbox 360. I think it'd be fun to play with some of you guys from PSOW, or at least talk about it. Man, I'm really excited for this game.

Hopefully i'll have more to say about it tomorrow.

I am getting this game for sure. 2 of my friends and I are splitting it. The set list is amazing and I heard the drums are the best part and I am a drummer so this should FUCKING ROCK!

I've been recruited as the lead singer of a Rock Band. I can't wait. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Hopefully some friend of mine will pick it up, so I can mooch off it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Seriously, I'm glad there are still some games that are fully dedicated to a co-op experience.

Heh, that's exactly what I'll be doing once one of my friends buy it. Buying games yourselves is for suckers xP

I can't wait to be singing in a game again.

There was a game on PS2 that was incredibly fun where you would sing against other players locally. It was tons of fun. I can't wait to combine them all!

I just don't know how soon I'll get all the money for it, though. It's too bad it's so spendy!

If this requires a gold account to play online, which I assume that it does, then screw that, i'll just play with my real friends offline, instead of faceless strangers from across the country. Real Friends FTW!

I was kind of aiming for getting a bunch of Guitar Hero stuff for Christmas, but now I find myself kind of wanting Rock Band. I mean, it would let me practice my singing in a context far different than SingStar!, which is always a good thing.

I was sitting in line for the midnight launch, for three and a half hours, before Best Buy employees came out and said that the entire area had not gotten shipments of the Xbox 360 version in yet.

...Despite, you know, advertising that they already had 16 in that particular store (in the paper, and on the radio), and advertising a big midnight launch, and everything. :/

You'd think they'd get copies of street-dated games a week in advance, and not find out two hours before launch that they didn't get any in...

Fuck, is it actually popular enough to merit picking it up at midnight? I figured the huge pricetag would scare everyone off so I could pick it up at my leisure today.

AND HERE I AM WASTING TIME IN MY CLASSES UNTIL 2 O CLOCK OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD

I'm excited, I just hope I dont break the drum set. I'm a pretty hard drummer...

I got it today. The guitar aspect is very nice. I suck at the drums. I will get better at that eventually (after all, I started GH at easy and now can do most songs on hard).

my friends are planning to get this, so I'll probably play eventually. Specifically what I'll be playing I'm not sure yet. Depends on what they think I guess.

Got mine yesterday too, so far its great. I like the new guitar style. The only thing is that spring tension on the kick for the drums is waaaaay too low. I'm sure i can find a way to change it though.

Well the reason I haven't posted again yet is because I have been playing the fuck out of this game HOLY SHIT IT IS AWESOME. Playing the drums for so long that at the end of the day my leg is so fucking sore, hahaha.

The only problem I have, I'm wondering if anyone else does. The connector to connect my headset for live to the drums, it doesnt seem to work or something. The mic works fine in the controller, and it works fine even running through a USB controller to my Computer, but not for the drumset. Is it just me or anyone else?

I don't think it's in Canada. I heard the US stores bought all of em... may or may not be true.

This was the only thing I asked my parents for Christmas, so hopefully I will get it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I'll be on the 360 ready to out-rock your bands.

And yes, this is a challenge. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

So, it's pretty well-established that the game is freaking awesometastic.

And it is.

However... Many people, including myself, seem to have gotten defective guitars. :/ On Day 2 ARB of owning the thing, I can't strum down reliably any more. Almost all of the time, the down strum doesn't register, and in the rare chance that it does, it registers twice, forcing me to only strum upward in all cases (wouldn't be a problem, if I was playing Bass, but it completely messes up guitar parts).

Reports seem to range from the guitar's strum bar breaking in such a manner in time periods ranging from straight out-of-the-box, to within a few hours of usage... So be glad you have that EA warranty that comes with the thing. :/

The Rock Band tour came to my college a few weeks ago. Game is really fun with friends. Solo is great aswell. For pure guitar Guitar Hero III is better imo since its more polished But overall Rock Band is like 3 games in one.

Guitar Hero III has the Halo theme for download http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif I thought it was cool. Just downloaded it earlier today.

Personally if you "love" these type of games get both since they both contain different tracks.

lol @ Guitar Hero III being more polished.

I got my guitar replaced, though. The strum bar seems to be working just fine on this one... But the effects switch is bad. :/ Goes from None to Wah-wah before it even goes to the first notch...

So do we have enough people here on PSOW to play a 4 man game yet?

I could play whatever. Havent tried guitaring yet, but it cant be too much different than guitar hero.

Also your Pokemon team sucks, Kent. Barring the manly Xatu of course.

I'll be in a 4 man game. I can do anything as well. I tried singing this morning and it wasn't that bad. I have lots of people saying it is hard.

Third guitar seems to be the charm. >_>

Well, I can play Guitar/Bass on Expert, due to many hours of practice with the past two Guitar Hero games (even though GHIII messed up my HOPO timing :/)... I'm fairly confident in my skills as Medium-level drumming, though. The game has also reaffirmed the fact that I can't sing. >_>

And while there's not too terribly much of a difference between the guitar/bass parts of Rock Band and Guitar Hero, there are a few differences... Mainly in timing - you need a considerable amount more accuracy in this one, and HOPOs are back to being done correctly (a la Guitar Hero II). There's also that effects switch, to make yourself sound cool, and all.

Oh my gosh. What a great game. If anyone wants to play sometime, send me a message. I'd love it.

Ah, man. Guitar part is extremely easy, even on Expert. Bass part is generally easier, but still fun, none the less. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Ah, and drums... I'll be practicing that a LOT for the next long while.

My favorite part is that I can change the words to the song without the game actually knowing it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I'm getting the PS2 version, as it's the only system I have that is getting Rock Band. While Rock Band is fucking awesome (I got to play it on my uncle's PS3 over Thanksgiving break), I am a bit disappointed that, with the PS2 version, I won't be able to play online or download new songs...

Oh well.

I played the drums a few times at Best Buy the past two days. It was pretty fun and I picked it up a lot quicker than I expected. So... the demo at Best Buy didn't have Won't Get Fooled Again and was wondering how that it, especially on drums.

It has officially replaced Halo 3 as the office diversion, and is far more fun to watch. I'm actually sold on it, but won't be buying it since my living arrangement is not conducive to its play.
