Once you find Photon Drops where do u take them and wat r they for or wat do they do?

Can someone give me a description what some of these do? (Like the heart key, photon sphere, ect) Only the items that aren't obvious...(I know what all the color barriers are for etc, but what are the others for? Is Nei's claw the only weapon in that selection?)
