quick grinding question

Ok, say i have a weapon thats 5/8. Does that 8 mean that i can only posssibly grind it 3 more times, or do i have 8 more tries to hit 10 before it's completly gone?

I'm pretty sure the highest grind it can get to now is 8 on that particular weapon.

it means the max is can ever be grinded is 8, you will never grind it past 8.
If you break it again, then it will only be able to get to the 7th grind. So, it's like the 1st thing you said.
If you fail for instance, the 6th grind, it will go to 0/7 and you can only possibly get it to 7 now.

My highest amount of Grinds is a 6... However, it seems that it is entirely possible to get the maximum number 10 of grinds, but has anybody achieved a fully grinded weapon before?? No idea...

I'm pretty sure people have gotten 10 both now and pre-AoI. I've always been too chicken to try though, heh.

i think they just get around 20 or 30 and keep grinding them until one is maxd out

ok let me see ... you have a weapon .. lets say a double saber .. you want to grind it up and well you get it up 3 times with no problem but then on the fourth time it "breaks" .. well instead of "breaking" it just lowers the max on how many times you can grind it. so like before lets say you grinded it 3 times, then you would have 7 more grinds until max .. but since you "broke" it once you have to start all over and max it 9
