View Full Version : A and S Yohmei Rifles... wtf?

Has anybody noticed just how poorly the new Yohmei rifles grind up?

A friend of mine pointed out to me that his 9* Kiujibahoh with 5 grinds has 25 less ATT than his 6* Falgohoh with 6 grinds on it. So I started looking though the item database at the grind charts and made a disturbing discovery about the power of the new rifles.

Oddly enough, the Falgohoh with 10 grinds is the Yohmei rifle with the highest possible ATT rating (unless the Mizurakihoh magically gains more than 30 ATT on the 10th grind which I highly doubt...).

5* Burzaihoh 0 grinds = 238 attack
5* Bursaihoh 10 grinds= 498 attack

6* Falgohoh 0 grinds = 284 attack
6* Falgohoh 10 grinds= 544 attack

7* Haktsurahoh 0 grinds = 332 attack
7* Haktsurahoh 10 grinds= 430 (approximate) attack

8* Kaurasuhoh 0 grinds = 375 attack
8* Kaurasuhoh 10 grinds= 457 attack

9* Kiujibahoh 0 grinds = 405 attack
9* Kiujibahoh 10 grinds= 483 attack

10* Mizurakihoh 0 grinds = 439 attack
10* Mizurakihoh 10 grinds= 530 (approximate) attack

Something tells me ST messed up BIG TIME on their grind calculations for the new rifles.

Yeah... the Yohmei rifles are a tad underpowered...

Whoa dats crazy!!!!thank god im not any type of gunner....pshhh lol to bad for you guys lol
i have faith in ST to fix tha issue

Uh, higher rank weapons always gain less on grind than lower ones, regardless of manufacturer.

The only reason I can see to use a grinded Mizurakihoh (or any Yohmei rifle, really) is Killer Shorts.

Also to be considered is that an ungrinded Phantom has more attack than all of those in the list with the exception of the Falgohoh +10.

Yeah, but their PP pool is fucking limitless.

Haktsurahoh +10: 1867 PP/442 ATP
Kaurasuhoh +10: 1913 PP/453 ATP
Kiujibahoh +10: 1958 PP/483 ATP
Mizurakihoh +9: 2015 PP/518 ATP

They're not damage weapons, they're "stick status effects/Killer Shot on everything in a fucking mission" weapons. If I played FG, they'd be the only rifles I used. *shrug*

It just seems completely wrong for the 6* to have higher dmg output after grinding than the 10* one. Correct me if I'm wrong in saying this but aren't each classification of a weapon supposed to completely outclass the lower rank version (same manufacturer of course)?
If so, then why do the B ranks outperform the S rank in any way?

Ffuzzy-Logik
Nov 24, 2007, 08:22 PM
Depends on what you mean by outclass. Mizurakihoh+10 sure as hell outclasses Falgohoh+10 in terms of PP.

But all the Yohmei guns look incredibly ugly, so this entire topic is silly.

A B rank weapon with any higher stat than the S rank of the same manufacturer, that's what I mean by outclass, that also includes grinded stats as well.

Hell, the Burzaihoh at +10 has higher attack than the 7 and 8* at full grind which is even more wrong.

You're forgetting about the 100 accuracy that the S rank has over the 6*

Yay! Moved to the blackhole that is the Gameplay guides section... That's great.

it's got to be an oversight. To prove that it is, simply grind other weapons (even other yoh weapons)and watch: the other weapons do NOT follow this pattern.

I agree. It has to be an oversight. I wonder how long it will take for ST to fix this? If they ever do that is.

If other weapons followed this pattern everyone would still use B ranks...

SolomonGrundy

no, becasue ATA matters. Keep in mind a lot of folks DO use B ranks with stellar %s.

Anyway, ddi you email ST/Sega/Juan (tech support) and let them know? At least make a post over at the official boards.

How do I go about emailing them about this?

Rifles are about landing status effects, not damage. You can't beat the higher ranked Yohmei rifles for that, because they have the best PP.

Basically I wouldn't be surprised if it's that way on purpose.

Actually I think this might be the real deal. Remember how yohmei knuckles(7-9*)got that huge nerfing? The 6* has more atp than the 7* and matches the base atp of the 9* when it hits its sixth grind. Makes perfect sense, no?

they balance the stats by being fuck-ugly. Sure they maybe be broken, but who wants to run around shooting what looks like a half-peeled banana? (sarcasm)

I'm more diappointed with the 8* kubara version. I thought it would have rediculous amounts of PP with a high regen for killer shot spamming, but it's actually worse than even the assassic in every stat. How's that for messed up?

I actually like the flower motif. It gives Yohmei weapons some uniqueness and character. I mean, there are only so many ways you can actually do guns using the typical sci-fi and/or past/present Earth standards.

But, uh, yeah, I can see how people could call 'em ugly anyway.

You're right, but I'm mainly quoting you for "killer shorts."

Yohmei products are suppose to be underpowered. They provide more PP and accuracy at the expense of power.
The yohmei 10* rifle is a God send for a fortegunner using Killer Shot. Especially when it's grinded to +10 because of the superior PP.

The oddities with new weapon stats make them FAR more interesting than regular gear.

All of the B-rank Yohmei rifles grind up to have 1600~1700 PP. There's almost no progression there, they just get higher ATP. The A-ranks look like they don't go far on power but there's a big PP jump from B ranks and even between A's.

BTW: I read that the 6* GRM and GRM Kubara bows actually grind to higher ATP than Ulteri+10. More brand/rank wierdness.

Mizurakihoh has over 2000 PP at +10, no?

I got that weapon for Killer Shot alone ;s

Rule of thumb...

Attack Power: Yohmei Products < GRM Products < Tenora Products
PP: Tenora Products < GRM Products < Yohmei Products

I don't get it.

Touche. Not too-sha. I can't tell you how many times I've seen that misspelled. That and voila.

I'd use a Yohmei rifle to level up bullets, so long as I had it decently grinded. That combined with a Giga/Bullet PP Save would make a rifle last a looooooong time.

attack isnt the concern with the 10* yomei rifle, it has roughly 2500 pp

at ten grinds

Too bad ATA doesn't grow with grinds. Yohmei brands have the sickest ATA around.
