Its a casino room deco, the person who puts it in there room can set a price on how much you give it, the only thing i dont no about this deco is that the person who has it in there room will get the mesta that has been taken.

It's called Gacha Gacha for a reason. The fact that meseta is so easy to come by nowadays, its pretty amusing for sonic team to put in a deco. like this.

"A fool and his money are soon parted"

beatrixkiddo
Nov 25, 2007, 01:52 AM
You put items into it, and set a price to play. When a visitor approaches the machine, it shows them the top 3 items in it (not sure if you set those 3 yourself or if it does it by star rarity), and the price. They can then choose whether or not to pay. If they do, they get a random item from the machine.

something like a plush crane type room deco would be cool, you could put photons or other things in it and charge people a small fee to play. If it takes money shouldnt it be fun?

Are there images of this in action? It sounds like the old "I got a Burst in this present JUST KIDDING IT'S A SCAPE DOLL BOARD THANKS FOR YOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND MESETA" scam, minus the actual scam part since allegedly people should know what they're getting into now.

So here I was at 3am looking around shops for Note Seeds just for the hell of it, decided to go into the one with the cheapest to have a look around (300k lolz), and then I saw this

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g242/swrsnowboardrat/psu20071125_030752_006.jpg

I had never seen this deco before, so naturally I went over to it, saw an option to access it, so I did, and I got this prompt:

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g242/swrsnowboardrat/psu20071125_030801_007.jpg

Got some 9*/8* synth mats and I'm thinking oh, cool. So I did it a couple of times, next thing I know I see this:

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g242/swrsnowboardrat/psu20071125_030808_008.jpg

And then...

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g242/swrsnowboardrat/psu20071125_031317_009.jpg

>_> bye bye 20mil, thank you for fucking prompting me about THIS COSTS MILLIONS OF MESETA TO USE.

Looks like I'll be selling my Agito Repca or something, I'm just about broke -_-

And before I get the IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, FIGURE OUT WATSUP: It's 3am.

Ah, so the prompt is broken. There is a thread about this particular deco already:
http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=161155&forum=20&20

It's supposed to be displaying how much it actually costs in that prompt (it's adjustable by the seller), but it isn't, and it seems people have been taking advantage of it.

I actually keep most of mine in the common box for quick access for my other characters. Although if you only have the one it's probably best to keep it on hand and just avoid these things entirely (or at least strangers' machines) at the moment.

The way I'd try it, is bring a small amount of meseta with you (10,000 or less) and do one. That way, you're only losing 10k or less if that's the price, and you're getting something.

Small meseta amounts is the key!

They didn't design it intentionally to cut off text and scam people. It is simply something they missed in the testing. A text overflow is a pretty common translation bug.

Gotcha is actually a really useful decoration - it eliminates the stupid shops where people advertise "Buy a random present for 10 million and win <insert rare item here>!" because the Gotcha actually tells you what items are on it (although I don't know if it's a complete list).

Now if only SoA would fix the stupid text problem, we'd be all set.

Actually, it's a "Gacha" machine, named after a kind of toy dispenser from Japan. It's not meant to scam people out of meseta. I highly doubt neither of you knew how it worked, since all it would have taken was 5 seconds to "use" it and see that the price was not displayed.

Oh, please. Spare us. Shyne is absolutely not sympathetic.

An experiment? Come on. Any normal experiment wouldn't involve a vast sum of meseta like 10 million per item. It was obviously set high to get rich off of an unfortunate individual who happens to carry a lot of money around. This wasn't any better than a scam operation, and if he's not willing to give all of it back, then it says a lot about his character, and shows that this wasn't just any experiment.

The meseta was earned under false pretenses, and he knows it. "Thanks for the 20 mil"? Heh.

Of course, you and Shyne could also be completely unrelated, and you're just saying this to stir up trouble.

Personally, once I get mine, I'll make mine pretty much accessable to pretty much anyone. Although I'm still wondering how much that thing can hold.

Remedy
Nov 25, 2007, 03:19 PM
Except the machine is not designed around caveat emptor. The machine in its current status is broken, so you cannot know if it is a 10 meseta Gacha or a 10 million meseta Gacha. It's a bug, and anyone exploiting that is a baseless scumbag who's just as bad as any other form of scammer.

Won't work, honesty is obviously not the strong suit of anyone online who can do whatever they want anonymously.

Happened already on the Sega forums - the shop said 15k and took a million instead. Another guy called BS, went in to test with 15k and the machine said he didn't have enough money.

Sounds like a GashaPon machine gone horribly wrong... (And with no anime girls inside either!)

And ingenious insults like this are the grown up way to do things, hm? Typical hypocrite. And like stated before, another one deemed irrelevant. It's not an insult, it's a mature analysis of your brother's behaviour. Someone with moral fiber and maturity would apologize to Archer in person and would return the full sum of the money (and Archer, obviously, would return the gacha prizes). Your brother is not doing that. He is pouting because people are questioning his actions.

And I have a fairly decent stake in this, considering that Green Archer is one of my good friends. Anyone that scams my friends has to deal with me, as well. Good friends stick up for each other.

Well, as Green is your good friend, Shyne is my younger brother. Im not going to sit around and watch this situation unfold as if hes about to be placed on e-America's Most Wanted. Say what you want, but in alls end, he could have simply ignored that bulletin placed by Green and kept the full 20mil. He would have done so if he didnt have a single sympathetic bone in his body. On top of that, quote "The situation unfolded as so. Before I went to sleep, I raised the price to 1mil after tinknering with my new room deco. I awoke the next morning to find that someone had spent 20mil on it. After checking his bulletin, I was on my way to returning it when I came across this rediculous thread that I was some crazy scammer. Your telling me, I should apologize in person, when by the time I woke up this morning, this thread was up, and I was being called hacker. You can contact Green, and tell him to check his visitor log. I came in immediatlly this morning after recieving his bulletin, to return the full lump sum. Call it rubbish, if you want, but thats how it took place. But after scanning threw forums this morning, and seeing my so-called character already being defaced, why bother? And to top it off, when Green recieved the mail from my brother (Me) he spoke as if he was going to report me and as if I intentionally set out to scam this single soul out of his 20mil. Very different from the nice bulletin I recieved from him from the night before. Keep in mind, this happened OVER NIGHT while I was sound asleep, and I DID NOT KNOW THE PRICE WAS NOT BEING SHOWN. I just got the the thing, a few days before, and never got to try it out for myself until yesterday. My reasons for keeping the meseta are because I was being accused of something before my peace could even be spoken. (I dont have a keyboard so you'll have to forgive me) And thats it. I just recieved a bulletin from Nova, who came to me politely on bulletin and explained the situation, not bashing me for a flaw which is not mine. It is Sega's. And NO I wasnt exploiting this flaw. I did not know of it until this morning. So Green can give my brother a ring, and we can settle this maturily if he wants. Ill be happy to give the other half back, with a simple apology, as I apologize for the confusion. FYI this could have been avoided if people would'nt instigate a situation which has nothing to do with them" Unquote. So with that, im letting the situation go aswell. Like I said, im only the messenger, and will see were it goes from there. Thank You. Oh and..

Anyone that scams my friends has to deal with me, as well.Yea.. no comment on that.

Anyone have a story of someone using this for good?

If I was Shyne and I had to deal with the reactions I saw in this thread, I'd keep the whole 20 mil. Just saying.

Wow. That's not at all how it went Sierhiet.

Wow. 20mil in a Gatcha machine. I presume you need some of that back. It was my brother's...

03:07:06 <Recv> Sierhiet(20030368)
Machine, but he says hes willing to give some back. Just mail me and let me know how much. xD

03:11:24 <Send> Sierhiet(20030368)
I'd like all of it back if possible because that's scamming and I could report him -_-

03:12:06 <Recv> Sierhiet(20030368)
Its not scamming -_- Its not his fault Sega doesnt have the price listed. Blame Sega,

I understand that you guys didn't know the effects it could have, but right away you're saying that not all of my money is going to be returned. All intentions aside, that's scamming, and a reportable offense.

What really bothers me is that you're letting him take advantage of the situation.

If he wants his money back, give it to him, or else you're stealing from him. He didn't give you any money, he jsut tried out a stupid room item that stol way more money than he thought it would. Give him back his money since he didn't intend to give it to you obviously know it was a sorry mistake on his part to use the room item. If you don't give his cash back, it's an offense and is reportable.

Well I'm sorry green but to an extent he did not owe all of it back unless you gave the items back and that was not stated by either of you as something you would do...

I will gladly give back his 15ish Vestaline and some Crea Dagger board.

I made this thread to inform people of the broken machine, nowhere did I say that he was a scammer of any sort until I saw a mail saying that I was getting a portion of my money refunded.

Yeah..I see where you coming from now if you thought I made the threat initially to attack your brother.

Green, that mail was sent AFTER we viewed this thread. Like I said, check your visitor log. He was so going to return the full sum before hand. And then he read this. I sent the mail, you replied with...

03:11:24 <Send> Sierhiet(20030368)
I'd like all of it back if possible because that's scamming and I could report him -_-

And thats when things got out of hand. And even so, I wasnt disagreeing with you on him giving the full sum anyway. I was however disagreeing on you calling him a scammer. And also, if you havent noticed from this flood of text, I did say I would work on getting the full thing back.

Step 1: Note that someone accidentaly put more money into a machine than intended.
Step 2: Return all of said money to Someone who wants their money back.
Step 3: Apologize for the inconvenience/mistake.
Step 4: Everyone gets off your back.

"I came in immediatlly this morning after recieving his bulletin, to return the full lump sum."

"And by full lump sum I mean I'm going to keep half instead because people are yelling at me for charging a rediculous amount of money for a stupid deco. BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!"

I can be freakin' immature but I don't give a shit.
