Somebody I dont even know, just got on this game and gave me a level 200 mag with 150 power, then left a while later...I have a feeling it may be duped. And I wanna know if anything happens when you have a duped item...

okay....thanks...I thought something bad might happen, like a ban or something along those lines http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

The chances that someone just gives away a level 200 mag is suspect. I know if I had an 'extra' lvl 200 mag lying around, i'd prolly save it for a mag cell.

I'd place my bets on the fact that it's duped. It's not bad to accept these gifts, but if you have morals against cheating, or duping in particular, such extravicant gifts should set off that proverbial alarm.

But then again, you could prolly keep it and noone would ever know the difference. For all we know (if the mag is a different color than your char) you just swapped it from another one of your characters to help boost your current character's stats.

Either way, you should be able to decide for yourself what to do with this 'gift.'

That's what I did with my Diwari for my RAcast R2D2. I gave my level 200 Diwari to him http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I threw away a God/Battle that was duped. The guy had given 3 out in the game.

It's your personal preference in the end.

I don't think that rule applies anymore. I've just created a new character that is a very dark green and my mag is now PINK!!!
What the...
=)

Just thought you'd like to know.

as long as ST are still running the servers then dont expect any special attention... they'll more then likely wait until it all gets out of hand and then simply post a message... thats it.

yes, this thread is interesting till no end and stuff, but... redfox? you're still waiting? it will be out in pal, when you finally get it, i fear... o_o;

about duped items... noone can detect it because its a duplicate drawn from a legit item - so no difference. rest is personal preference... or fear of others pointing with their virtual fingers towards you ^_^

What I said about the color of the mag doesn't always apply. For instance, a Naga mag is always that dark green/gray color, regardless of who raises it. Also, when a hunter is beginning to raise a mag that is about to hit its second evolution, if the mind stat is highest, then it will turn into a Rudra. As far as I can remember (without doing a little research) Rudras are always the same color, white with some red (pink?).

Anywho, that might clear it up a little for you. I should have been more precise with my post.

After 26 hours the game detects it and a message shows up. From then on, the choice of "Online Mode" is grayed out. To fix this, you must drop the duped item, along with at least 3 other rares(even crappy rares), (for punishment of having a dupe), and Save/Quit. A message then comes up, and Online Mode is Enabled. Congrats.

They could have found it also. i believe all found mags have a random color, at least Vulpes' mag guide says so.

AAAAHHHHH PINK!?!?!? Scary...I did notice the last 2 costumes that are available on each set of costumes (the ones with no color bar before the number) have always had mags that are Random colors... so yeah...did you maybe choose one of those costumes? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Anyway...I'd prefer to go through the game with legit stuff. I love my Demo Comet though...so I'm gonna be ignorant and say it isn't duped, and I'll keep it. I'm gonna toss the mag, and everything will be back to cool =D Hurrah! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Thanks for evveryone's help...especially Cloak X_x http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

All the mags that I have found are gray. I am not sure if it is because I equipped them when I was using one of the special costumes or not.

If I were you, I'd drop that MAG somewhere in the Ult VR Temple or Ult Ruins, restart the game, take the disk out mid spin, run off to Pakistan, drop it off, then return to your state with a new name and ID.

This is a joke, right?

A duplicate is a copy of the item. The items themselves don't seem to have any identifiable attributes. Unless each item has a digital signature that can be verified by the server (the old public key-private key type of thing), I don't think the game has anyway of knowing what is a copy and what is not.

It was a joke. Don't take everything said so lightly like that seriously. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Its up to your preferences whether you mind using duped items or not. Enjoy the game. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I just feel so unsafe...I wanna trade my hard-earned legit items for other hard-earned legit items...not items that people dupe, keep one,and benefit for themselves...I don't even know how to dupe fortunately...ST should have fixed the bug while testing the stupid thing! I'm sure they knew about it...then they make more money by having u buy a dupe-free version that isn't sold in stores...it seems sonic team became desparate for money or something...LIFE ISN'T FAIR!
