Dear iTunes (and by extension, Apple),

I would dearly love it if you could prevent whatever annoying as hell glitch randomly makes certain songs, or entire albums unplayable in iTunes, even if the files themselves will open in other media players.

I am a busy guy, and I don't like sitting around for hours, re-downloading or re-encoding songs so my library is as organized as I like it to be.

It was bad enough the last time. I am rather frustrated that I'm having to go through my entire library again, searching for which songs are bugging up, which songs have had their tags reverted, and which songs simply don't have their album art showing.

Hugs and kisses!

You know, iTunes is the only music player I have that crashes regularly when trying to load up my music library. This is both on OSX and Windows XP/Vista. Winamp, WMP 11, Zune, and even Foobar 2000 have no issues loading it all up. ITunes? Well, 'shit fucking blows up.' Actually, it got so bad when loading up my library the first time on OSX that it required a restart of the computer. Twice. WMP 11 on the same computer loading the same music? Took about 1/10 the time and didn't crash at all. Needless to say, I really don't like iTunes.

After several hours of tweaking, I have about half of my library integrated into WMP. Tomorrow, I shall use a file-conversion program to convert all of my MP4s to MP3s, so that I can integrate those as well.

I am rather pleased with WMP's interface, it's a lot better than I remember it being. It does seem to have a few issues with searching for information for less-common music, but I can almost always find a link to All Music Guide on there, which is quite good.

So long, iTunes.

I would also like to note that Apple's most recent iPod patch or update, whatever, has disabled the iPod from being listed as a new device. I've heard people elsewhere complain that their 360 doesn't detect their iPod anymore.

and about time you got around to kicking iTunes. It wasn't 'til 7 came out, it started being ... a little excessive and buggy. These days, I just use iTunes to organize the stuff in my folders, and play via winamp. Speaking of winamp, I highly recommend Izotope's Ozone plugin thingy for playback. Really makes stuff sound better. =D

...People use iTunes to share porn on my school's network.

It's several usage violation, and that's really the only file-sharing-capable program that's allowed, for some reason. :/

lolTunes? I think so.

Apple has some of the most brilliant designers in the world, but their engineers should be drawn and quartered.
