Ok last night I tried to synth my [B] Dori it has a 96% success rate and it FAILED!!!! WTF how is that possible i can make a whole board of howrods that were what like 49% before all the updates!!!!! I got 2 more dori boards for 300k each but still how the hell did it fail!!!

Because it was 96% and not 100%.

1) There's a lot of hidden parameters that go into synthing such that the success rate is not always accurate. Close, but not accurate.

2) 4% failure rate does not mean impossible. Example: I'm a mechanical engineering co-op at an assembly plant, and one of our lines has about a 5% reject rate. Sounds insignificant, but if we run 60-70 parts per shift, that's 3-3.5 bad parts per shift. That's not equal to zero, and that can indeed have a significant effect on the day's metrics. So just think of it this way, you coulda synthed 60 of those and 3 of them would've failed. You got one of those 3.

Still, sucks that it had to happen to you :

At least it wasn't something extremely rare. You can take comfort in the other 3/100 people that failed that board too if you want. Start a club or something.

Just curious, but what did the failure give you as a consolation prize?

Think of it kinda like hitting the lottery... except instead of getting money, ST broke your weapon board over their knee and pissed on it.

Fixed.

I had a dori fail on me. It was the first major synth I ever done. Afterwards I began to understand why people get upset over failures.

Original statement still holds, as Sonic Team programmed your PM, the synth system, and set the parameters of the chance system, remember?

Synth %s are lol. My friend has failed two Meteor Cannons and two out of four Phantom Lines post AotI and post bonuses on pure PMs, but I succeeded 2 out of 3 attempts at making a Ran-misaki (9* Twin Claws) on a 0 Striking PM.

96% isn't a sure thing, I've had similar success rates fail as many as 5 times in a row. ;o[spoiler-box]http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w8/Ronin_Cooper/100_0883.jpg

Failure can happen![/spoiler-box]
