I had a mission to find a Psycho Wand. After the other night of persistently persuing - and eventually finding - an Angel Harp with my Skyly, I was inspired to do the same with this ultra-elusive rare. So nearly two days ago I began running through Addicting Food with the intention of reaching the room with six Lilies in it. The first night (Monday night into Tuesday morning), I went through six Mil Lilies and all had dropped junk. At this point I was too tired and figured I'd resume my mission on the next day.
Next day rolls around (now Tuesday night into Wednesday morning - current day) and I start off by running my Purplenum FOnewearl (same character used to hunt the Psycho Wand) through the Ultimate Mine for the first time. I breeze through, but alas didn't find another item which I had my eyes set on: the Kasami Bracer. Oh well, I'll try for that later. Vol Opt is dead and the Ruins are open. For now I'll resume my current mission: the Psycho Wand.
Running through Addicting Food again, I'm finding a sickening amount of Silence Claws (in one run I found two just rooms apart). I'm starting to feel the burn of frustration, but I don't give up even after three Mil Lilies give me more junk. At this point I'm up to eleven total Mil Lilies with Purplenum (I fought two more before I even started the mission to find the Psycho Wand - before I knew that's what they dropped) and not one of them had dropped anything good. I've also gained better of twelve experience levels and enough various items to fill up half of my bank. Then the twelfth Mil Lily appeared, and ironically in the same spot that about half of them appeared in. I was beginning to think that spot was cursed. Not expecting to find anything, as usual, I systematically went around the room zapping each Lily with Zonde to run it into the ground until only the Mil remained. My Zonde struck with nothing more than a fizzled spark repeatedly - nothing beyond the norm. And then the Mil went stiff as a board, spinning like a top and exploded in a puff of bluish haze. But wait. At what remained of the Mil's base gleamed something in red... "RED BOX RED BOX!!!" I heard myself scream. Wasting no time I rushed over to claim my prize, fearing all the while that the shiny red box was a Photon Drop and the game was simply being cruel to me. But it wasn't. It was that all-too-familiar cane character followed by the words SPECIAL WEAPON. "I GOT IT!!! HELL YEAH!!!" I shouted aloud. I went into my inventory and equipped that sucker post haste. There, in my Li'l Starr's hand, appeared the Psycho Wand in all its glory. It had 10% Native and 10% A.Beast in its unidentified form. Better than nothing. I later tekked it to 20/20/0/0/0. This is the rarest item I've ever found out of all three versions of PSO I've played. I'm one happy fox. =^.^=
The moral of this story, as the topic indicates, is that persistence pays off. Don't give up. Keep trying. Eventually you'll find what you're looking for.

Requirement: 900 MST
Class: Battle Cane
ATP +400
DFP +50
ATA +55
Max grind: 0
Star-rating: 12-stars
Special attack: randomly casts Foie, Zonde, or Barta @ no TP cost.
Bonuses: Boosts Rafoie, Razonde, and Rabarta spells roughly 30% while equipped. Halves TP cost for all spells, but steals HP equal to the spell's original TP cost in exchange.
