I just got AOI in the mail today, and it wont work...
i have a DVD-ROM drive, and it wont work, it never loads when i put it in, any way to fix this?

Load it manually? Try opening it through my computer.

How old is your dvd drive? Have you tried upgrading the firmware on it?

i'm looking at my Device Manager window and it says my DVD drive is.
JLMS DVD-ROM XJ-HD166
where can i go to get new firmware for this?

First, I can pretty much confirm Zero's assumption that the firmware is the problem. That particular model drive has a problem reading DL Discs firmware DD05 or lower. As for where to find the firmware, do you happen to have a Dell PC?

I ask because JLMS DVD-ROM XJ-HD166 is commonly used as a Dell OEM DVD-Drive. If this is the case, you can go directly to Dell's support site for the upgrade (http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx & then click on the "Drivers & Downloads" link).

If you don't have a Dell... then did you buy & install this drive independently, or did it come with the system you purchased?
