during the Raccoon City crisis, Claire Redfield was 19.

7 years later,
Degeneration's story begins (after RE4)
She is 26 during that time.

http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/5455/crhk1.png

It's possible that Degeneration's story will link to at least Resident Evil 5's prologue.

And if Claire survives Degeneration's crisis, that means she will be 29 years old during ResidentEvil 5 since RE5 takes place 10 years after Raccoon City
(I think it's possible she will join the BSAA along with Chris and maybe other veteran RE survivors).

the bad part is that since this is being produced by Sony Pictures, they might restrict the movie to only a blu-ray release (which would be stupid since blu-ray is not mainstream and they would therefore make 1000x more money off of a DVD release as well).

the good side is even if Sony would be greedy enough to only offer the movie in Blu-ray format to prevent Xbox360 people from watching the movie on DVD, people will just torrent and watch the movie online for free anyway. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

I never understood how zombies were supposed to be a threat. Scary, yes, but they're basically humans with rotten body parts. One zombie is probably less threatening than a single human, and even swarms of them probably wouldn't be that bad if a human is armed.

Well, one can create a wall-o-text to explain how zombie physiology works. Basically, they aren't exactly dead but rather "re-animated". They don't have the basic social functions of a person. So in other words, they're basically an animalistic, savage version of humans, only having primal urges and needs to feed to survive.

The way the T-Virus works allows them to be as strong as humans are (if not stronger because of the possible mutations from contracting the virus).

Keep in mind, this is all a work of fiction, it doesn't exactly have to make sense (and I'm just speaking from my own "theories").

But I saw the trailer and I'm really anxious for this. I grew up playing RE and I'm a die-hard fan of the series http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Too bad Sony is behind it >_>

So what you are saying is something that is completely immune to all damage except for hit that can destroy the brain and has the ability to convert you into what they are in one hit is no threat what-so-ever? Have fun getting eaten by a crawler.

Considering how broken up a corpse should be, a quick kick to the face seems like the brain goes down fairly quickly.

Um, crawler? What's a crawler? You mean this thing? http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/aschloss/animated/crawler.gif

I don't think I'm in much danger...

Well it's to bad you just missed breaking the skull and just pushed him back a little bit. Now his friends can jump on you.

well zombies can turn people into zombies just scratching them, and they are hard to kill unless you dump a lot of ammo into them or decapitate them. so yeah, they are stronger than normal humans, plus the virus factor makes them very lethal and a threat to human civilizations.

that's why Raccoon City had to be nuked instead of some kind of National Guard trying to clean it up themselves. cute FF11 crawler gif, by the way. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Okay you kick in one zombie's face, what about the other 25 that are all lurching towards you?
Also, depending on what you're watching/playing, not all zombies are the slow lurching kind. They're also the OMGTRACKRUNNERITSCOMINGRIGHTFORME kind that pounce on you like a hungry tiger.

When the inevitable zombie apocolypse comes, you'll be one of the first to go.

BLASPHEMY.

Anyway, zombies are actually the least lethal creatures in Resident Evil games; they're dumb, slow, and way easy to kill and get around. It's when you're up against BOW's and mutated creatures, when you have to equip that shotgun or magnum and spray some bullets into some genetically altered asses. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif BUT OMG THIS MOVIE. This is the first I've heard of it, and I'm practically BLOWN AWAY. Can I say HEL YEH any louder? Seriously.

Huh...Unless I'm mistaken, that one with the gun is Leon. Hmm...looks interesting.

Oh, and to the one who doesn't think zombies and their like are a threat: Enjoy the Hunter that rips your skull off.

You want Captain Marvel to be in RE?
Just kiddin, I don't think that bloke from Zero in that.

I know he isn't, but I'll always be hoping for both his and Rebecca's return into the RE plot. So far, it's like both of them just...vanished. Hell, you don't even know if Rebecca survived Racoon's Destruction.

Yep yep, but if you take into account the fast moving zombies (They have these in RE), and if you want to go out of the RE franchise and into movies like, say, dawn of the dead and 28 days later, where the zombies run at breakneck speed, you're pretty much screwed against a large number of them, especially if these are the hypercontagious ones that can get you infected you just by touching your skin.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and this movie should be awesome.

Crimson heads? Even those are pretty easy to get around. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Don't get me wrong, zombies are awesome, but to be fair to the series in Levia's regard, you've got to consider that they're not even the most lethal creatures on RE. Lickers, g muntants, tyrants, hunters, bandersnatches, spiders, GAINT ALLIGATORS, etc. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif I agree with the whole, "they're deadlier than you think," but just sayin'.

I doubt even Sony can keep it exclusive to blu-ray only, they would notice the meager sales and be forced to release it on DVD, even if they wait a month or two after the blu-ray release,

they KNOW they would lose a lot of money if they don't sell it on a format the majority have systems to play it on (DVD players)

it kinda reminds me of their failure with the PSP's attempt and providing movies to watch in its inferior UMD format. Universal admitted it was a money pit and total waste, which is why they stopped making movies in UMD format.

Sony sure is stupid, even for a company with lots of money.

Not to mention that Sony Pictures is a different branch of Sony. They make movies all the time, and they're all released on DVD, blu-ray, and PSP. Resident Evil Extinction is due out soon, and I guarantee you that that will be the case for it. I can't see why this CG movie would be blu-ray only.

What you guys don't know is Sony also can make HD-DVD. XD
It's mainly gonna be on Blu-ray though, it's 100% benifical to them, you get blu-ray and their TVs and all that. And since I have a Bravia you know I'm gonna get blu-ray.
