It's like reading a cross between Journey to the Center of the Earth and Jane Eyre. Lovely British mannerisms about it.

Did notice a small error:

But was a decidedly human emotion, and the professor quickly shook it off.

I don't believe that 'But' is an emotion. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Also, maybe a little too much information at times (rarely, but I did manage to notice):

"Certainly not," Olivia lied

Well, we know that Olivia lied. We don't need some hooty-tooty narrator leading us about like children.

Don't think that I didn't enjoy it, though. It's been a long time since I've finished reading even a chapter of anything in FanWorks, so I have to thank you for The Discoverer

I have to admit I had a hard time getting into this but I'm glad I stuck with it. It's very good. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Heeeeeeey... SOme of us read this but don't want to post anything in case it might change the ending/your direction of the story.

...

On second thoughts, that's quite cowardly of me to say... but please keep posting the story! (I love multiple book stories!)

ah, I just finished chapter one, Sorry I couldn't get to it sooner. I'll need to finish this later, this computer I'm currently on is killing my eyes. Can't wait till I get caught up. =]
Anyway, it seems promising, keep it up.

I'll probably start finishing tomorrow, I'm not on my home computer and frankly, this monitor blows. It's killing my eyes just typing this, lol.

I've seriously considered getting one of those Palm readers just for reading texts and eBooks like this, reading off of my monitor or printing it out (my preferred way) is troublesome/expensive but I'm sure you'll be doing a PDF version of the entire thing, right? If not, I'll sort something out with Pages and see if I can get the whole thing to fit on twenty A4 sheets of paper again...

Guess what? I'm finally caught up, I just read, pretty much, the whole thing. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif
It's really turning out to be as good as I expected it to be. The fact that it's a whole new take and type of story, earns you even more respect.
Can't wait for upcoming chapters =]

Wow. This is a really compelling story. I find myself wondering if more will come of it after this story is completed. In a way I don't want this to end,I just want to see it continue. But because of the world and story you've crafted I think ending it would really send it over the roof. In a very good way.

I hope you don't mind. I've been saving this story in a text document so I can read it in the future, with your permission share it with others as well. Very good, thank you for sharing this.

Ahh, every time I read something of yours I am overwhelmed with jealousy. Your prose is just so beautiful and regularly different - you never reuse metaphors or anything like that. You also are really amazing at setting atmosphere, something I wish I could improve on every day. ;_;

Keep writing, oh great master! /dramatic bowing
