Because he's a Force. There are limits to the armor a Force can use.

Search here (http://www.pso-world.com/items.php?op=listarticles&secid=9) to find out what rare armors he can use. For common stuff, use mostly frames.

because for some magical reason, magic users on RPGs lack the mental capaticy to buckle up their armor.

they cant use anything with the word armor or shield in it.
There may be an exception or two when it comes to rares, but im not sure.
