PSU-PS2: How come the game turns Number Lock on?

I been wondering about this umm since like PSU's release but always forgot ta ask!

How comes when the game is loading up it makes the number lock key on your keyboard light up? Dunno if this applies to PC players but I know it does that for PS2 versions. Whats with that?

i'm on pc and my num lock key stays off, might be something in options? mine is set to off when the puter boots up aswell if that matters
