View Full Version : Bandwidth Throttler?

Does anybody know of a program that would be able to limit the amount of bandwidth a program can use?

I ask this because when I play a game online, and have something downloading in the background, that download may take up most of my bandwidth, thus causing my ping time to deteriorate, making me lag like hell.

I've tried places like CNET, and downloaded a few of the programs that might do the job, but most of them can only monitor bandwidth that's used by programs. I need one that will enable me to manage bandwidth.

Any help about such a program and where to get it would be appreciated.

Download managers like getright have bandwidth limiters.

Well, GetRight doesn't manage bandwidth for other programs, right? I'm sure it doesn't.

Thanks for the help though.

No, but I noticed that you specifically said downloading. Anyway, I'm sure there's something out there. I haven't found it yet, though.
