View Full Version : Sega trying to defeat e-mail backups?

So I go to backup my char last night after a sweet round of trading (Thanks Xeku), and like I've done successfully countless times before, I send my char to myself through SegaNet's mail servers. This time however, When I went to go DL it on my spare VMU, the file was currupted. 3 seperate tries, and all 3 times the file was corrupt.

So then I tried it on my brother's DC, which dials into a local Mom and Pop ISP. It worked perfectly (like it used to on SegaNet), on the very first try.

It leads me to believe that Sega's implemented some e-mail filters to corrupt any files name PSO____.SYS that get sent through their servers.

Does anyone else have any observations on this? Remember, it started last night.

I should hope this just has to do with the Sega servers acting up and not some intentional action.

I'm pretty sure that what your suggesting is an illegal action, and Sega could be sued for it. They have no right to corrupt data. I doubt they even have the power to censor it.

I don't think Sega is stupid enough to break the law just so people will stop "reaking the rules"

It's all Sega's fault to begin with anyway, if they had made a more stable game people wouldn't feel the need to back up their data.
