Since our server is a major bottleneck right now, we've made some adjustments to the forum software to keep database traffic to a minimum. This includes disabling a couple of search features and automatic user titles.

We realize that forum lag is a major problem right now. It is pretty frustrating for everyone. Since we have no control over hardware, the only thing we can do is tweak the forum software.

Right now the most important thing is to keep the forum lag to a tolerable level. The changes from last weekend have definitely helped in that regard. The time needed to reply and view a topic has decreased. We'll probably keep the forum in its current configuration until the server upgrade happens. After that, we can re-enable all of the forum's features and start on that long-overdue overhaul.
