View Full Version : PSU Resolutions

So I'm playing on a laptop with a wide screen, but when I click on PSU's options, it doesn't give me the choice to set the resolution to any size of widescreen, only 640 x 480, 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768. Therefore I can't play in full screen mode or else it'll look all stretched and ugly. >_>

But I've spoken with other PSU users who also play on laptop, and they say their games give them widescreen options like 1280 x 800 and stuff. And yes I'm playing AoI, so why doesn't mine give me widescreen options...? And is there any way to change that?

If anyone knows, help would be nice. <_<

I'm not for certain but that might be a built-in limitation for some video cards. What card are you packing, by chance? I get widescreen options on my 8600GT.

PSU supports 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960, and 1280x1024. AoI adds 1280x720 into the mix. If your monitor has a resolution greater than 1280x720 (both vertical and horizontal) but it doesn't show up (such as if you use a 1440x900 resolution monitor) you'll need to manually add that resolution as an output in your video card's drivers. How to do this varies between ATI and nVidia hardware.

Well I don't know much about cards but mine seems to be a Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family... the memory size is 358MB. Any of idea how to manually add a resolution to that kind of card?

I talked to a friend about this and he told me to get Windows XP (I have Vista), could that help?

I've got an 8800GT and no wide screen options. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

EDIT: Every other game I have, Half-Life 2, Crysis, Doom3, all have wide-screen settings (1680x1050)

I am having the same problem with my new laptop. I'm using an ATI radeon hd 2600 512 mb graphic card. How do you manually add a resolution as an output to your graphic card's drivers?

Run in window mode, at the highest res you can? Being able to alt-tab is handy anyways o_O

Yeah, that's what I do. But apparently the game runs more smoothly in full screen mode...
