SQUEEEEEEE~!

http://www.jay-t.com/public/gaf/xiii/13/FF13/FF13-10.jpg

Blondie is sooo dreamy~! X3

http://www.jay-t.com/public/gaf/xiii/13/FF13/FF13-11.jpg

*swoon* XD

http://www.jay-t.com/public/gaf/xiii/13/FF13/FF13-13.jpg

hey! and this proves he rides up front on the
passenger seat! he's so brave!!!! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

(this is further proven in:

http://www.jay-t.com/public/gaf/xiii/13/FF13/FF13-11.jpg
where you notice the driver is on the right side
of the car. and the other two side in the back.
so that means Blondie rides next to the driver!
letting the driver do the dirty work, and getting
the best view of the scenery up front! so carefree! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

RAWR! I'll flood Nomura's car with food stamps
dipped in cranberry juice if these characters are not playable for the whole story's gameplay!

Versus may end up just having the leader fight
solo like in Devil May Cry or Crisis Core. that better not be true! fighting alone and only
using one character is soooooo boring (like Kingdom Hearts which didn't allow controlling the others.
and CoM which was completely solo) >_<

I anticipate FFXIII and Versus equally

but Versus finally got interesting now that it introduces 4 more characters (including that new
lady) that may potentially be playable party members instead of just another Rambo game.

Hopefully Versus's team don't forget the group aspect
of Final Fantasy adventures. even FFXII offers
a leader switch feature, so there are no excuses!

true lol. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

but I'm gonna wait until the month they are actually released.
they still have to prove that the gameplay is good enough. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

but if Versus is just a solo romp like DMC and Crisis Core,
I may just rent it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

blondie is not effeminate looking! he's just really handsome! XD

the only feminine looking one is the prince/leader guy. I don't like
him much. too serious and it looks like he wears makeup. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Pfft, nothing better than a guy in touch with his femenine side... with looks, and money, and a good personality, a good job, nice family, fancy car... oh, and a good credit card swiping hand. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

the first thing that struck me as significant was not the graphics, but the fact their surroundings look perfectly modern and plausable. Granted, they are definitly in what would be a swanky tourist filled area, but everything looks like it could fit in our world.

NEW INFORMATION!

THEME OF VERSUS XIII

R E V E A L E D !!!!!!!
*swindled this post from another board. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif *

"Famitsu.com have pubished two serpated articles on Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, as they often do after their cover stories.

The articles basically summarize what we have read before in the scans. The Final Fantasy Versus XIII article explains that the theme for Final Fantasy Versus XIII is "bonds".

Versus tells as story about "a group of young men" caught up in the struggle for the final crystal.
They note that friendly and not-so friendly characters, and they question what roles they will play in the game. The Prince and his friends are said to be very closely bonded and loyal to each other.

http://finalfantasy-xiii.net/

I say brothers because since they look like they are part of a mafia that rules the city, they would treat each other like brothers. This is the most unique theme I ever seen in a FF yet. Although I like chicks in the party too, just having guys as the central characters is badass too, cause it reminds me of The Warriors, a little, and also
The Bouncer, but like 100000 times better. plus XIII already covers the female variety of a party. so if Versus just focuses on these guys, I still would be a happy camper (but chances are that rapier woman is gonna join them anyways, maybe, unless she's
another Electra.)

This also reminds me of Final Fantasy 3 (Famicom), where it was focused on 4 central characters. This is awesome cause this leaves room for plenty of character development and interaction (instead of having like 6-8 characters where some get more spotlight than others).

Top this with a possible drivable car like in FF8. and we may be getting one heck of a
refreshing adventure unlike any other. "

SQUEEEEEE~! it looks like they will survive the
whole way through, most likely. and will all be
playable too and party based, most likely! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Gawd, I hope not. I want some deaths in my Final Fantasy. And not some ol' bullshit Aeris type deaths either. Some deaths with REAL emotional impact. Not none of that NPC dying or destorying entire towns. I want some REAL FUCKING TRAGEDY IN MY FINAL FANTASY.

And yeah, Nomura's designs were already old by the time KHII came out. Its like he has no sort of variety in his style, unless he is working off of someone else's art. Like the redesigns he did for the Warrior of Light & Garland for FF:Dissidia were cool, but they were only good because he had Amano's art to work off of. But when given freedom to design his own shit, we get adrongynous bishounens, spikey hair, pretty boys who have no place in battle at all, BELTS,ZIPPERS, AND STRAPS OH MY!,GACKT, GACKT, GACKT, AND MORE MOTHERFUCKING GACKT, and all other kinds of animu bullshit.

Her death wasn't tragic. She was just praying and got stabbed in the back. Boohoo.
A tragic death would be like Anakin in Star Wars. Even though it wasn't a death and it wasn't in a video game its still a good example of tragedy. He lead to his own undoing because of his fear of losing the ones he loved and so he searched for the power to protect them. But ultimately that power corrupted him and led him to the Dark Side.
Shit like that is tragic.
Aeris' death was only mildly sad.

You said it wasn't emotional, the protagonist's girlfriend dieing is pretty up there in the emotion category. Although I was about 12 when I first played it and haven't really gone back since then, so maybe it wasn't as impactful as I remember. But it was the first game where a main character died on me.
