It's modeled after the Green Dragon Crescent Blade (sometimes called Black Dragon, but this is an incorrectly translated name) weapon wielded by the general Guan Yu (Kuan Yu, etc) during the period of the Three Kingdoms in China. Guan Yu (Kuan Yu) is now oftenly worshipped/depicted as the Taoist God of War due to being one of the most well-known military generals in Chinese history (it was said he never lost a duel).

Oh yeah, her. Her name and the name of the sword do sound pretty similar.

As for reasons, I was about to say that maybe the creators were trying to poke fun at the Chinese for their attitudes of male superiority or something, but I was afraid of offending someone.

I was hoping to pick some up cheap, since most characters are female and very few use S-rank swords... but it's "a rare" so the prices are ridiculous even if there's absolutely no demand.

People will get hungry sooner or later, I hope.

EDIT: the weapon's description is wrong, it should read A SWORD WORTH A THOUSAND! Dynasty Warriors is awesome.
