Self-Twinking for Rares

I've done Gran Squall and Forest of Sorrow for 3 weeks and found naught but a Guard Wave from a random pal rappy and a Kaladbolg in a box.

I've been trying to get a Stag Cutlery with my Greennill HUmar for so long now that I'm actually trying to beat VHard with my Pinkal as a better alternative. The only thing I can make drop when I need to are el rappy, because FIY is so chock-loaded, and they drop stags for Pinkal on Ultimate.

Is this a normal dry spell? Is it often better to create another character and beat 3 difficulties to get a single rare? Ultimate sucks compared to VHard http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif. On the plus side, I guess I'll score an Orotiagito from the deal. Too bad Ult DF will kill me for weeks at level 43.

get some HP mats and units. i used a dragon HP and general HP units. as for the orotiagito- have fun. >_< you will NOT get it on the first pal rappy.

Dry spells are common. Don't let anyone fool you. And then every once and awhile you find a ton rares. Good luck man. The True Agito drops so freakin rarely... I have killed well over 25 or more Pal Rappies, and I haven't seen that oh-so-elusive red box drop from his cowardly pockets.

I've gotten pretty lucky with the Pal's, so I'm hoping things will work out. I'd have long ago traded, but I'm offline only.

Update: Piss and ye shall receive. I found a stag cutlery when I went to clear the forest tonight. Figuring I was on a streak, I went after some Melqeeks for a Demolition Comet, but not luck. Ah well, I'm having fun with my new favorite weapon http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif. Thus ends a month-long hunt.
