Anyone play this game before and if so tell me how it is since I saw it was free and was thinking about trying it out to see if I like it or not. Also notice it heavy on PVP which I don't mind but I Want to know how the gameplay is.

Korean-style grinder MMO.

Your time is worth more than that.

ugh...thanks for the info.

Do you know any good MMORPG that is fun to play for more than 1 week?

EvE Online!

Oh, you wanted a game that is fun to play. Still the best MMO. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Yah. If anything, EVE Online has the better chance of being fun.

Picture this: there are no set classes or jobs. Everyone can do anything. You can mine, run missions, be a bounty hunter, be a pirate, engage in trading, perform research and development, manufacture ships and parts, explore for treasure, join in diplomatic intrigue, etc. There's no system that regulates this at all, so if you want to hunt pirates in the morning and then pirate around in the afternoon, nothing's stopping you. The only difference between the races are the training time for certain things (I.E.: Character with a higher "intelligence" learn scientific skills a bit faster, while those with a higher "charisma" learn corp management and social skills a bit faster, etc.)

The one caveat is that there is no endgame scenario. The goals you strive for are the ones you set for yourself, so the game is as long or as short as you make it to be.

Despite how unfriendly EVE could be if you weren't constantly covering your ass(and trust me, unless you cover your ass, you'll definitely get taken for a ride), I have to say it was fun.

I started my game off as a miner/refiner of ores, started a mining corporation in secure space and had a handful of new players join. Very laid back, come and go as you please sort of thing. Then I attempted to move the corp to 0.4(unsecure) space to work with an alliance, unfortunately that particular alliance was constantly being harassed by pirate corps in the region; more or less "You pay us rent and we won't kill you...maybe". I said fuck that eventually and left. Went on hiatus for a while, came back, took off on my own to 0.0 space(lawless territory, even the game empires don't go that far out). Immediately got in with Black Ops, a pirate corp in a pirate alliance. We'd harass any local 'player law enforcement' and bounty hunters when they'd come through, and it was alot of fun because the npc's in our back-end system(there was no exit, once you got in so far, it was a dead end) were battleship class, so they'd give 100-250k for each one you killed. I can remember solo'ing two or so of em at a time, along with their cruiser escorts.

So I effectively went from a mining carebear, to a businessman, to a pirate. And don't get me wrong, its fun, expecially when you're playing with decent people who aren't "gimme gimme gimme" and are willing to put forth the same effort to get things done.

Aside from an MMO, Sins of a Solar Empire is a new 4XRTS game out, by Stardock and Ironclad(the people who worked on Homeworld). It's real time empire building and space RTS. Grand scale, you can have games that are short, maybe 45 minutes, or you can use the ingame map editor(which is hellishly easy and intuitive to use) to make maps with numerous stars and hundreds of planets, with up to 10 players or AI(though, a game that large could take a year to finish).

Stardock make wickedly addictive games.

Galactic Civ 2 was the TRUE successor to Master of Orion 2 :3

I played RF Online for 2.5 years and while I don't regret the experience and love the game, it's managed so horribly that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I quit after it went free to play + cash shop + new content patch. The three combined killed any PvP competition the game had - as unbalanced as it was.

While it lasted I think it had the greatest team-based open-world PvP in any mmo.

Sins of a Solar Empire is so tempting! But, then I won't have time to play EvE or Gal Civ II!
