ok i traded for a lavis cannon.... then i started to look for rares and all i could get was...., photon drops....., lol. The lavis cannon is only 10% native.... Does it effect drops or something???? I killed a lot of monsters and not one rare. I did find a hilde blue and he dropped a weopon, but i don't think that would count for this...., Well does anyone have any idea's?

Okay what I'm asking is if it was hacked or duped, does that mean I can't get rares anymore?

If you use a Hacked Mag or Duped weapon, you lose the ability to get rares. But from the sounds of it, you might just be having a dry streak.

Yeah. Sounds to me like you are just having bad luck finding rares. Keep searching, you'll find them http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

The only way to stop rares from dropping is by having a mag thats over lvl 200, or by haveing stacked items. Which means having more than 10x of that item, besides PDs. Having a duped or hacked weapon will not stop rare drops. Your just having a dry spell. But that hildeblue does let you know that they cans till drop cause it does count.

Duped weapons don't affect drop rates in any way. As sum182 mentioned, only mags over level 200 and stacked items disable rare drops. Moving to Mag, Quest, Item and Section ID.

well I should kinda know about your situation, i used to dupe stackeable items, that absolutely killed my rares, but after I got rid of everything i duped, i found rares just like I used to on the GC version.

Well, Photon Drops are technically rares, so if you're finding those, you're fine, just unlucky.

From what I remember, Photon Drops belong in green boxes since anything can drop them (pretty sure not everything can drop certain items, but Photon Drops are one of the ones that can be dropped by anything), but are just "rare enough" to have a red box. Rare items are anything found in our drop rate charts here.

Ah, no caps name? I thought red box counted, though I guess a Tempest Vulcan isn't really a rare (does it redbox? I don not recall).

nope.
From what I remember is that, any highest weapon (vulcan, calibur-the yellow ones) that have the highest special (hell, tempest, stuff like that) will become 9stars. Anything with 9stars gets yellow lettering, but not a red box.

Also it would be spelled like this (imagine Yellow though):

Tempest Vulcan (9 Star)
VARISTA (9 Star Red Box)

I think that was an over explination, but oh well.
