well first of all, their problems with artwork is
pushing the game a little farther but good news
is you can beta test the game (for 8 weeks)
for free if you buy Wolf of the battlefield:
Commando 3 this Spring! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif
(offer valid for Xbox360 gamers)

http://blog.capcom.com/

http://blog.capcom.com/archives/998#more-998

despite the animations with previous high amount of
shading ending up not looking satisfactory to Capcom,
the new sprites still looks super!
even with less shades, it actually makes it look smoother. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

other good news is the slight delay allowed them
to add features that would have been otherwise
excluded, such as 8 PLAYER TOURNAMENT MODE
Remix and Classic music, etc. etc.!

Link for that one.
Not "Free" if you have to buy something else first. POW

HUD still needs lots of work, super cramped there. Ken standing outside of it even.

Oh,nice images. Yeah, the display HUD is pretty cramped. I think it's possible they zoomed in so we can examine the detail.

Interesting. Wonder of the games is gonna play the same. If anything...it's sadly more appealing to me than SF4 is right now.

Looks really cartoony. Ken's expression as he is about to get his with speeding detached fists of death is priceless.

There's a 99.9% chance the HUD will remain like that.

Competent game developers, like Capcom, know that a lot of TVs "overscan".

All readable or important information should be moved approximately 5% inward from the edge of the picture, so that all TVs can display it properly.

When you see the image on a normal TV or HDTV, I guarantee you that the HUD will be on the edge of the display.

If you see the image on an XBox360 connected through VGA or on a TV with overscan turned off through the service menu, it'll look like the image we've seen.

Wow, looks great haha. Sucks that it'll be a while before it's actually here, but I'm a patient dude. I may indeed get Commando 3 just to get a beta key as well. It's like Crackdown all over again!

THE ONLINE BETA IS FREE!!!
Just cause you have to buy Commando 3 to have access to the beta
doesn't mean it's not free. you are simply paying for the Commando 3
price (and who knows you might like Commando 3 too. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif )

so it's really a great priviledge and great deal to play HD Remix much sooner,
even if its a beta test with only Ken and Ryu, I heard we'll be able to choose
Tournament Mode and Quarter Match! and being able to play it for 8 weeks!

Much better than running around in circles, whining about when we'll get
to play HD Remix at all. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Plus at the same time, we would be helping them test and make sure the online
is better than hyper fighting. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Also that's most likely how the HUD will remain, cause those screens are
taken in widescreen mode. but in 4:3 mode, it will fit just right. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

There is one issue I've always had with online fighters, though: lag. I'm hoping that's not a problem in this one.

Don't forget that the D-pad for 360 is downright criminal. You'll be needing an arcade stick for this bad boy.

This is how sprites are MEANT to look like

there will always be lag in some matches, but it's the bad connection
players to blame. even in HF, I had mave matches that don't lag
at all, some matches that lag a bit, and some matches that are
unplayable, that's a natural part of online fighting games.

but it isn't gamebreaking unless you always end up playing with
the bad connection players.

but Capcom devs said that the online
will already be better than HF, that doesn't mean you'll always
have zero lag with everyone you play, it just means that you have
better chances of not experiencing any lag if you are playing
with players that have good latency.

and if you still experience lag, then don't join
group rooms, and keep in touch with the players that
you had matches with that never lagged. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

QFT

I agree, I am *not* happy with SF4's art style... and what they did to Chun Li's looks is just appalling.

Buy and Free do not belong in the same sentence, Sanger.

Saner. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif anyways, lets say someone who doesn't even
know about the online beta offer, wants to buy Commando 3,
they are basically getting the online beta for free as a bonus.

people are paid to organize and program and release the
online beta, but we don't have to pay to play it. It just so
happens they wanted to promote Commando 3 further by
attaching the offer, but you are basically getting a full game
for 800 pts, and a temporary beta that's playable for about 8
weeks (and many fans really want to at least try it out as soon
as possible).

so it's really free from a bonus point of view. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif
