I haven't watched wrestling in a very long time. Funaki used to be my favorite back in the day, so when I saw him wrestle Edge, I though it would be cool. Funaki was annihilated. When did it get so bad? man Smackdown sucks now...

Taka Michinoku's tag team partner guy?

He was the "star" with his own named finshers "Michinoku Driver" and the like, Funaki being the comic relief in matches, no?

Quickly Google search then wiki-ing, Taka owns some wrestling school, Funaki is 39 years old broke his nose and cameback for a March 18 taping.

Only now? I found that all of it started to REALLY suck around the time they unified WWE and WCW.

well now you have
Monday Night Raw seperate from Smackdown, seperate from ECW, seperate from TNA

so basically there are 4 different wrestling things going on. Raw and Smackdown are both WWE, but they each have their own heavyweight title and everything.

Well not entirely. Sure it's not really as intense violence as they make it seem, since they are professionals and their lively hood is on the line if they get injured and all the dialog is scripted but there is a degree of actual sport to it and they can get hurt as a result of this "dance" they put on. But overall it's just an overly violent soap opera, so I avoid it.

I watched it a little back in elementary school, but only because my friend liked it, I never could get into it.

Semi-related, Taka Michinoku's name is fun to say.

Wow, Funaki's still around?!?

With all the top talent that WWE let's go I'm surprised that they still keep him around. Looks like Funaki has a job for life, of course it doesn't surprise me that he's still a jobber.

I used to be a wrestling fan but I quit the day Eddie Guererro died. I just couldn't watch that shit anymore. I couldn't alow myself to get emotionally involved anymore. Too much tragedy in the business ( case in point Chris Benoit, I was a massive fan... ).

Moving away from the negetive stuff. I really thgought the WWE was going to do somthing with Funaki when they started the "Funaki - Smackdown #1 Announcer" thing but it looks like nothings changed.

I agree with Blue-Hawk, the whole entire product went downhill after the brand split.
