On a small number of machines, there is the possibility that the game will spontaneously reset. What happens is, during play you will hear the saw sound like the disc is being read and you will be taken to the screen you would see if there was no disc in the drive. I have spoken with one representative and Sega's only solution to this (aside from advising you to attempt to recharge the internal battery) is to pay the 75$ for a refurbished one.
