That video was fairly spiffy, I must say.

Although I was kind of weirded out with their use of Guilty Gear stages. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I've heard of this, and I have to wonder how they've come up with movesets for every single one of these characters. It should be obvious for characters like Link and Megaman, but a Tektite? All they did in the Zelda games is hop around.

Also, for those of you who don't know Spanish, this is the most recent update from March 15th:
"We've finished the work with the characters and artwork, and we've started to create the backgrounds and test the game. We hope to have the demo released during these [next few, I'm assuming] weeks."

seems like if there are 1000 playable characters, it'd take 10 minutes just to find a character you want to use.

extremely dumb IMO, there is too much of a good thing

It looks pretty neat, actually, and the spritework is pretty good, though I hope they'll consider including some Phantasy Star while they're wading through licensing hell (I'm sure they must not intend for a commercial release.)

Also, I was disappointed after looking at the character pictures of the characters named Reala and Sato.

I like games with a broad selection of playable characters, and 1000 to choose from definitely qualifies. The animation looks crisp for a retro style fighting game, and pulling top tier characters from many different franchises should have a broad appeal, pulling many fans from different franchises. (A marketing strategy not new to gaming by any means)

Usually problems with these types of games is balance, with 1000 characters to choose from, having any semblance of balance would be difficult to impossible without limiting the variety between characters. I'm guessing the more popular or franchise characters (Sonic, Cloud, Master Chief, etc) will be the strongest play characters, with a large number of filler characters, and more then a few surprise characters with broken abilities.

If they can pull off any type of balance with that many characters, it should be a fun game with a lot of replay value, a 'great' party game. (Unfortunately i don't really like fighting games) http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I think they only have a 1000 cards, not 1000 fighters in the MUGEN fighting game engine.

You get the point.

You mis-interrupted my point. I'm saying there isn't 1000 fighters for THAT MUGEN. Everyone and their grandmother knows that MUGEN has well over 9000 characters.

8000 are variations of Ryu.

I like how all the sprites have the same style, Bowser owns!

I've been following this off and on. It does show how MUGEN can be used for pro-quality work if someone puts enough effort into it. Hoping for a "beta" release soon.

::edit::

I just saw Lina Inverse. HEL YEH!
